    RE: BBB Complaint ID: ********

I gave a quote to **** & ******* **** on 10/20/2021 for treatment and trimming of an ash tree and trimming of oak trees.

At the time of the quote both parties understood that the ash tree was struggling from the effects of the Emerald Ash Borer. The client decided to proceed with treatment and trimming to give the tree the best chance for survival.

The client wanted to take advantage of our Jan/Feb. discount so we scheduled their job for February 2022. In February we trimmed the oak trees but it was too wet on the back hillside to operate the lift to trim the ash tree. We came back in April 2022 and trimmed the ash plus more trimming on the oak trees. We left the invoice in their door.

I re-evaluated the tree in June 2022 and it was decided with the clients to do more dead wooding (mostly lower dead wooding) on the ash for no extra cost. On September 21, 2022 we did more dead wooding on the ash tree and was told by the client that they were pleased with our efforts and to leave the wood for them to burn in their fire pit. They admitted that the tree was in decline and wished they had started treatments for the Ash Borer sooner.

A year has gone by and the tree is showing more and more dead. Greenbush cannot be responsible for removing dead wood that was not there when the job was quoted. We will “write off the amount that is owed and consider the Quote #17264 dated 10/20/2021 closed.

    Sincerely,
