I would like to dispute a bill of $85 from this business. In July of 2024 I contacted them via phone to inquire about chiropractic services because I had back pain for several weeks. The receptionist explained that during the initial visit they would do several tests, including an x-ray. There would then be a follow up visit where they would discuss my options for care and go over a payment plan. I told her that all sounded expensive. What would it cost if I decided not to proceed with a treatment plan there? She told me there would be no charge unless I decided to go forward with a treatment plan. That seemed fair so I signed up for an appointment. The first appt. was 7/30. The follow up was on 8/6. During the follow up, Dr U**** said he would take on my case and it would cost me approx $1200 out of pocket (after insurance paid). I told him that was a lot of money and I would have to think about it. He said that was fine; let's go ahead and do your first adjustment. When I went to check out the receptionist asked when I wanted to schedule the next appointment. I told her I wasn't sure I would continue and needed to think about it. She said ok, that will be $55 for today's adjustment. I was surprised and told her I was under the impression I wouldn't be charged unless I started a treatment plan. She said that wasn't the case and I would have to pay since I allowed Dr U**** to do an adjustment. I was very upset but went ahead and paid the $55, thinking that would be it. I decided not to continue treatment there due to feeling misled. Several months later, I think in December, I received a bill for $85. They said $55 was for my deductible and $30 was for the outside radiology fee. I ignored the bill. They sent me another bill in February of this year. I called the office and spoke to the billing dept. I told her I would not be paying the bill because they misled me about the cost. They have recently sent another bill.
