      We made an appointment to have fillings for my daughter. We had dental records from a former dentist. Daughter was too emotional at previous dentist to have fillings done. Dowell said they would do the necessary work and took the appointment. At the appointment, the dentist said he wouldn't try to do her filling bc she was emotional at the last dentist despite being willing at this dentist. We received a referral to another dentist. It was a waste of time. They charged us for an exam, which wasn't what we wanted. Our dental insurance paid part of it. Dentist refuses to waive the remaining $50 for a worthless appointment.

      My daughter, *****, needed fillings.  We got an exam at Dr.D****, but she freaked out about shots while there.  I made an appointment at Dr. D***** and they said they would try, but they wouldn't force it.  I agreed to this.  While there they did not make any attempt to complete the fillings, but decided right away to refer us to a specialist.  Still completed an exam even though they weren't going to complete any work.

      To Whom it May Concern,

      This letter is in response to the BBB billing and collection issue complaint that was filed against Dowell Dental Group. I disagree with the premise of the complaint entirely.

      Our office only provided an exam (specifically a “limited oral evaluation- problem focused”) to the complainant’s daughter and we properly reported that service to the patient’s dental insurance company.

      The insurance company did not pay part of the claim, as part of it was adjusted off since I am a contracted provider for their specific insurance.

      The remainder due is the patient's responsibility, which says that on the EOB. While all of the services that I provided were done so in a professionally appropriate manner, I have decided to release the patient from their financial responsibility from that appointment. The patient no longer has an outstanding balance at Dowell Dental Group.
