      I had cataract eye surgery for one eye only on Dec. 11 and on the day before the operation I received a phone call from someone at Adena to go over some details and to get an upfront payment for the surgery. I was told that the surgery was going to cost $5687 and my portion of the surgery was going to cost $1,113, ******** was going to cover the rest. Later that day I received notification that I had a message in the message section of My Chart. In the message was an actual quote with an estimate of $5687 and showing the low number of $5,256 and a high number of $5,988. The quote sheet also specified Hospital fees were going to be $5,565 and the surgeon fee was going to be $****** early February I received notification from Adena that the total for my cataract surgery amounted to $17,970!!!!, I have discussed this with several individuals in the billing department and they see no issues with the billing and they have no explanation on why the estimate I received and the actual procedure are so far apart. I went through blood work and an EKG so Adena should have had what they needed for ************* make matters worse, someone got access into My Chart and went into my message section and removed the message that had the estimate and deleted that message. I feel lucky that I printed out a copy of the estimate in order to add some notes and for documentation. Why would someone go into my message and remove that message????I am still waiting for an explanation why the estimate went from $5,687 to $17,970 and I would like an explanation why someone would remove the actual estimate from my personal message section in My Chart! So much for Price Transparency with Adena!!!

      If I could give a 0 I would. Went to Greenfield location ER for severe back lower back pain. After waiting about ***************************** asked what was wrong. I told him. He looked at me and said there's nothing we can do. No tests. Told me that it would need an mri done but they don't do them there. I can barely walk, move or anything but yet they can't do anything. I didn't want pain meds as I can't take them. I just wanted testing or soemthing done to maybe see why I'm in so much pain. They didn't do anything. He looked at me and said are you just looking for pain pills. Like really I told him I don't want any type pain meds. I just need relief on why it is hurting so bad. Testing, xray, mri anything so show me why it is hurting then I can take the next step. Basically had to walk out still hunched over not to able to walk.

      Billing is the worst. Paid numerous bills-have shown proof Still receive same bills. They will not work to resolve this issue even when you show them proof

      Continued issues with the billing department. Paid for a lab bill with a check and the check cleared on December 23, 2022. Received another bill for the same lab in January. Received another bill for the same lab in February. The bill had been paid more than two months ago yet getting the same bill again. After waiting ten minutes to speak to a customer service rep at Adena in March to address the repeated billing - the customer service rep confirmed a zero balance on the account. Amazing. This has happened several times before with Adena. You pay the bill, get the same bill again in the mail a month, two months, three months after payment. I am not sure what the next step is in dealing with the recurring nightmare that is Adena's billing department and this is hardly an isolated incident.
