I contracted Sean K**** LLC to design an addition and kitchen remodel. He came to my residence the first time on Nov. 23, 2022 to discuss the process and look at the space to begin a preliminary set of plans. I paid him (via Venmo) a $750 deposit on Nov. 23, 2022 to start. He came back on December 13, 2022 to take measurements and take some photos. He stated that he would contact me to set up the next appoint in early January. He returned on January 19, 2023 with a set of plans that do not represent any of the measurements he took or discussion we had. There are hallways where none exist and missing stairways. He did not include many of the features we discussed. He asked me to review these and make any revisions. Though I thought the purpose was for him to make these, I drew on these documents, inserted the correct features of the current structure and added the new spaces we discussed. I also took photos and sent him all of this information. He called me and set up an appointment to come back on February 15, and never showed up. I texted and called, and I finally received a voicemail on February 22 that said he was forced into a drug and alcohol rehab center and was now clear and "drinking nonalcoholic beer...if you're interested or you'd like a refund please call me back." (I have this voicemail). He called me back to say the same in front of two witness - a contractor and other construction worker (so he verbalized on the phone). I told him trust had been broken and asked for a refund. I also told him that he could keep $50 of the deposit for gas money he spent coming to my home. He asked me to send him and email; I did and he responded that he was having trouble accessing his account. I have not heard from him again. I continue to send texts, leave voicemail, and email. I would simply like a refund of the $700 since he did not create plans for the addition per our agreement.

4/7/2023 - Per phone call from Mr. ***** (owner).  "Customer paid $750 deposit for her plans. I did not give her a time frame when we verbally agreed to the contract.  I told her that I had to do it on my own time frame.  The customer was not okay with that.  She then wanted her money back after I had already provided 20 hours worth of work @ $75.00 per hour.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ** ********* and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

Sean K**** did not complete any drawings, the pictures I sent indicate all of the corrections I made.  I have attached several text messages and the transcription of a voicemail he left me on Feb. 16 offering the refund because he knew the work was not done.  He did come to my house three times, so I offered that he should keep $50 for gas money.  The "plans" he brought me were incorrect with non-existing hallways and missing additions. I can provide the documents if the pictures are unclear.
