I’m writing after 2 years of getting an acrylic 1 piece shower. Initially we were happy with it and it took a little time to realize the major drawback of this type of shower- that is the FLOOR. In order to make the floor safe at all it cannot be smooth. The textured surface builds soap scum and is very difficult to clean especially since you can’t use any type of abrasive brush for fear of damaging it. It took me a while but I found figured out how. That caused a bigger issue though because cleaning it makes it extra slippery. Suction cups will not stick to this type of shower. So a mat will not work. Recently my healthy 42 year old husband slipped and fell in this shower badly breaking his shoulder:( When I reached out to Bath Fitter I was told the only thing that could make it more slip resistant was a spray that lasts 5 years, traps dirt and of course costs extra. We are fortunate to have another shower option in our home with a safe floor. Our Bath Fitter shower will stay very clean now since we will no longer be using it. I wish to make clear that this is not a 1 star review so much for this particular company, but a caution against the claim that acrylic showers in general are easy to clean and safe.
