      Our experience with Madtree and their events staff has been awful, and though I never leave reviews, this needs to be shared. During Covid, we placed a deposit for an event that was canceled, and were told that that deposit could be applied to any event in the future, penalty-free. We went back and forth with Madtree over the course of more than a year letting them know we were no longer living in the area, but may as well reserve the nonrefundable deposit since we have family in the area. Well, we recently reached out to plan an event and use the deposit on file, and were told that despite their awareness of the deposit, the language in the contract, or their emails (attached to this review) they would no longer honor the deposit, but rather would offer a discounted room rental rate. The discount offered is no where near the balance of the deposit. So, be careful dealing with their events staff or making any kind of deposit with them whatsoever. You likely will not see that money again.
