On April 20 2023, David Hellman came to my residence to look at a roof leak under a can light in my kitchen. He looked at the ceiling and determined no evidence of any other leak problem. Another contractor had also looked at the ceiling that week and there was no leak other than by the can light, He stood on a ladder by the chimney and pointed out the bubbling that David eventually fixed. David looked at the roof and determined the only thing that could have caused the leak under the can light was a bad patch job from the original roofer which was done at no cost as a courtesy after removing an inoperable vent pipe. He took the patch off my roof that he said was done incorrectly and put a new one on for 350.00. He also put tape on the chimney corners and fixed the minor bubbling near the edge of the gutter. On 5/24/23 I was getting a bid to repair a crack in the ceiling and in a wall and I noticed straight line water damage on the ceiling. I called him at 8.54 am on 5/25 and left a message that the area in front of the patch had a straight-line leak. I asked him if it could be his workmanship, or if anything was done by him to cause this problem and to call me to discuss him coming out to repair prior to more rainfall. I never heard from him. On 5/28 with a forecast of scattered rain that evening, and the next day, I paid Cincinnati Roofing 225.00 to repair David's patch which was deemed the problem. The roofer looked at the kitchen, determined no seam on the roof leaked and that there was not even a seam in the vicinity of the leak. He saw no other issues other than David's patch coming up. (picture attached) David's work was performed less than 30 days prior. I texted David Hellman with pictures of his patch giving away on 5/28 and asked him to call me to discuss a refund. He has never called.
