This company was contracted to complete cabinet and countertop work for a construction project and not only did the company walk away from the project before it has been completed (never made and installed countertops), we have been waiting on a check for reimbursement from them and has become non-responsive. They decided to walk away from the project because they supposedly had set an install date and then when that date came, we found out that they never actually manufactured the countertops and said that he was done working with us because we have been asking him when they will be completed. Our project shoukd have been completed months ago and still sits unfinished because we have been waiting on our funds to go out and purchase countertops from other places. We paid almost $10k for countertops and a few stock cabinets and have only received these cabinets which are nothing more than a big box store type. He also owes us a slab of quartzite for another remodel we are doing and have not seen that either. Completely unprofessional and amazes me that this company is still in business.

    Business Response

    Date: 12/06/2022

    Hi ****,

This issue started with the contractor who hired us, and then disappeared.

That contractor still owes us money, and left me holding the bag on The ****** Project.

** ****** is not correct about the installation date passing without our company making the tops.

The reason why, and I wrote a long email regarding this to ***, is that prior to that install date for the tops, *** asked about a chnage to the sink base area.

I could not complete the tops without knowing that answer, and I wrote and spoke to him directly about this.

From my recollection, and I can check the dates, *** finally decided to chose an option which would not  change his layout, but required additional panels to be ordered and sent to me.

But he also demanded an installation date prior to Halloween, and it was not possible because I did not know when the ordered items would be in.
We all knew what had transpired through the original Contractor, and I told him I would not set the tops until the cabinets were 100% ready.
The New Carpenter wanted to have the tops tops set before the cabinet modifications were done in the sink area.

I felt that this was no time to start making short cuts since we were almost complete.

The Carpenter kept nagging me to do this, and I got to the point where I threw my hands up and stated i would refund *** for his tops, and ******** deliver the Island top, and we would be finished with our business.

He agreed, and that was around early November.

Unfortunately we had some employees who had moved on to less labor intensive jobs, leaving us with my Brother and Myself. during our busiest time of the year.

***** residence is quite a ways away, and I have not had the time to make the ******** delivery.
In the meantime, I have had some Customer's interested in paying by Venmo, and had been speaking with our bank on how to do this.

I just today completed the effort to be able to also pay thru our Venmo.

And I had a note to ask ***, If we could send the funds that way.

In conclusion, I can Venmo the refunded item as agreed, but I do not have the time or persons to ******** deliver the Island.

To specify, ******** delivery is when the Customer has personal, to take the countertop off the truck and do what the need to after.

They may pick it up any time by scheduling with me.

I am still out funds for non payment from the original contractor.

I did not add any charge to ******** deliver the island.

This has indeed been a complete mess solely brought by original contractor.

I had tried to complete this job, but I as I say, I was not going to start cutting the corner at the end for a requested deadline.

    Thank You,

    Jeff

    We were.

    He agreed
