Viking completed a driveway tear out and replacement for me in November 2022. The lines that were cut to avoid mid-slab cracking are significantly chipped. I have attempted to reconcile with the business but ******* B**** (owner) initially ignored contact and has since no-showed two days when he promised to come look at the issues. I would like the lines to be ground down in a professional way or a refund of $2,000 so I can hire someone to come and correct it.

      Business Response

      Dear *****

We completed the job November 4th, 2023. ****** reached out to ******* on January 4th at 7:37AM addressing some concerns. ******* responded, however he was in the middle of other jobs, so he could not jump at her demand. Please see the attached screen shots. After these text messages she called ******* and threatened him further and said do not come on my property. That is where everything ended.

To address the actual concern, we have not yet seen pictures or been allowed back on site to calm the customer and address the issue. Based on her comments, the concern at hand is not structural and there is nothing Viking can do to make her happy. She just wants money back.

If she is willing to allow us to see the area of concern we can address everything and do our best to make it right. Unfortunately, at this point, due to the threats, our attorney has advised all communication be via email/text.

Please reach out with any questions.

      Chris

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below:

      - There is no proposed resolution in the business response:

      - Several items in the below message are incorrect:
"****** reached out to ******* on January 4th at 7:37AM addressing some
      concerns. ....
To address the actual concern, we have not yet seen pictures or been
allowed back on site to calm the customer and address the issue.
      ."

I provided pictures of the issue to ******* on Thursday November 10th at 9:12 AM (See initial screenshots) which was my first attempt at contacting *******, not January.

      - Please see the attached screen shots. After these
text messages she called ******* and threatened him further and said do not
come on my property. That is where everything ended.

To clarify, I did not call *******, all of my communication has been initiated through text, including the "threats" that my next steps would be to contact the BBB and the bank for tax evasion,  (sent at 11am) and allowing for ******* to respond by noon with next steps.   After I sent these messages, ******* called me at 13:54 and informed me that he had an army of lawyers that would "bury me" and "I have no idea what I'm talking about and people like me were the problem..." and at that point I interrupted him and informed ******* that I was disconnecting the call and all communication should be conducted through the BBB complaint.

After stating in their complaint response above that their attorneys indicated all communication be written/text, Chris initiated a phone conversation on 02/22 at 0953 with a family member to get additional information from him and see if I would accept a phone call from Chris.  Due to the above statement that attorneys indicated all communication be written, I advised Brian that Chris could email me which I received on 02/24 at 1237:

      Hi ******,

It has been brought to my attention that there were some concerns with the saw cut joints. I would like to arrange a time for me to come out with my team and review the areas of concern and address them. At the moment, he is out with covid, I expect him back mid-late next week. Please let me know your availability and I will coordinate everything.

If I would have known about this sooner, I would have got this resolved. I am on it and we will get you taken care of.

      Chris

      ------------------------------------------------------------------

Chris is welcome to come out Thursday or Friday 3/2 or 3/3 between 9a-2p to view the saw joints.

Please note: due to the lack of response from the business to this initial complaint, it was listed as closed by the BBB, as no business response on 1/28/2023 1:34:00 PM and so the next week I had another company come out to give an estimate on correcting the issue.  I signed a contract with them to complete the work in the spring so at this point a partial refund from Viking appears to be the solution.

Chris, please respond here with the day and time.

      Regards,

Viking did not respond to the BBB response. I reached out to Chris individually in effort to spur communication.  The business is unwilling to provide a refund as requested, stating that they will fix it and for me to cancel my contract with the other company with less than 2 business hours before the company is to arrive. After the initial no-response from the business, remediation from Viking was never a viable option. No Resolution has been reached.
