September 8th 2023, I had 4 teeth pulled and a partial and deep cleaning with sedation at the West Chester office of this business. Via email I discussed a plan for my procedure/partial with the Treatment Coordinator Jess. The pulling and sedation went well. I was given my partial the same day of the procedure and told to expect swelling after. I was instructed to come back in six weeks after to have my adjustment made on my partial so that it would fit. The dentist shaved down my partial after this six weeks and I did give feedback during that session that the partial was still too big but felt better than before. The dentist did not tell me to come back. (I talk funny from the huge partial, and have to remove my partial to eat. It is so uncomfortable that This is extremely embarrassing in the workplace or being around anyone etc.) It is painful to the point I have to take it out when I get home each day for relief. On March 21st I had a cleaning appointment. My teeth were cleaned and I brought up about the ill fitting partial and I demonstrated to the hygienist how my partial pushes my lips out. I have to cover my mouth frequently when I talk. While in the room she shaved down my partial. I stated again that it felt better but again was too large. She told me that it couldn't be adjusted again and for the first time a metal based partial was offered. They told me it would be $1340. On March 26th I emailed **** stating that I am still not satisfied with the partial at all. The response from Jess was that since I cannot swing the $1340 metal, that I could pay 800.00 to have a new partial made again. I can't afford to have them fix a problem they caused in the first place. The embarrassment and pain I feel are worse than before I had treatment here.Business Response

I tried to use my flex card through my insurance to pay my bill. They said they would bill my insurance. It was in the month of December so now I got a bill for the procedure in December and my flex money is no good now. The flex money expired at the beginning of the year even though I had the procedure done in December if they would’ve took my card, it would be paid for now the dentist is saying I have to pay the billBusiness Response

******** ****** was seen in our office on 12/07/2023 and 12/11/2023 for these dates of service she had dental insurance on file. Both of these appointments were diagnostic/preventative in nature. The insurance policy she had was new to her at our office. Because of this, we did not know how much if anything the insurance would not cover, therefore a co-pay was not collected on either date of service. We received final payment for all services from ********** insurance company on 01/25/2024, leaving her patient responsibility of $262.00. The balance is the patients responsibility.Customer Answer

I visited Advanced Dentistry Fairfax **** ******* Pike for the first time May 11, 2023. After getting xrays I reviewed options with the billing specialist, ********, who went over costing and different care plans. I asked her if I was in network (my insurance is Humana) and she said yes. I called in later to schedule work to be done, where she quoted me $387. She said this amount includes everything and they require full payment upfront. She did say this amount was an estimate but patients are usually billed a small amount or get a small refund if there is an insurance coverage discrepancy. I went in to get the scheduled dental work down on July 21st and paid the $387 at that time. I got a bill in the mail August 20th for an additional $311 dollars, at which time I called the office and they let me know that I was not in fact in network and that the bill is the remaining balance from what my insurance didnt pay. I explained to them how I was told by ******** that I was in network, and they said they stand by their employee and believe her when she said she didnt say that. They offered me a discount of $60 that I refused. The fact is that I was told that I was in network and quoted an in network amount. My total for all work was around $1100, an out of network quote should have been around 60-80% so around $660-$880. Obviously I should have double checked with my insurance company but I didnt expect I was being lied to. If I had been told I wasn't in network I would have found another dentist. If I had been quoted the correct amount I would have realized that I was out of network but that didnt happen. The company was dishonest and I dont believe I should have to pay the remaining balance.Business Response

This is not us. We are Advanced Dentistry of Blue Ash. Completely different companies than Advance Dentistry in Fairfax. Either way ***** should be responsible for knowing her insurance benefits, not Advance Dentistry. I'm sure she agreed to this in writing with Advance Dentistry.Business Response

We apologize there was a misunderstanding about your insurance. Unfortunately the insurance paid significantly less than estimated.
We are happy to adjust your remaining balance of $311.60 due to the insurance paying less than expected.
Thank You,

I had some dental work done which went well but the follow up did not go well. Long story short I’m going elsewhere for the remaining dental work. I paid 1119.00 out of pocket and my insurance covered 1591.30 they submitted 2470.00 to my insurance so actually I owed 878.70 out of pocket instead of 1119.00. I tried to work this out myself but no luck, they said I have a credit but I’ll never go back there and I would like my money refunded.Business Response

Patient contacted the office on 5/5/2023 in regards to his refund. We left a message that same day to get his card number as that is how he wanted the refund. We never heard back from the patient.
We will issue a check to his current address on file. Due to the holiday it will be mailed out on 5/30/2023.

I went to Advance denistry in May and June I had a procedure done as well as getting a root canal done then I had to come back to get crown inserted in June. They over charged me $1100 dollars out of pocket, which my insurance paid for the majority of this procedure. My insurance stated I should have only needed to pay $335.I have called them about this oversight no one ever calls back are they will say the insurance company has not paid, which is not true I have spoken with my insurance company about this a few times they have stated this was already paid for.I have a review on there website as well they stated someone will call me and take care of this. They are very unprofessional, just wanted a resolution.Business Response

*** ******* ***** still has an insurance claim pending. Our Billing Dept. spoke to *** ***** at the end of the day on Aug. 29, 2022 and told him they would contact his insurance company this morning when they came in. The Billing Coordinator did contact the insurance company this morning and was told the insurance company had not received the previous claim that was sent. We re-issued the claim and sent it to the insurance company today. Will await hearing from the insurance company and if *** ***** ends up with a credit on his account, we will be more than happy to send the patient a refund at that time.
