      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

D**** A******* lied. We never received a letter in August. Not one. The phone he spoke of was disconnected because it was my mother's phone. It was explained to him that I had just moved back to the USA to care for mom only 2 weeks prior and did not have a US phone number at that time. Also, while it's true that I told him that my siblings had reneged on their agreement to pay the funeral as I paid mom's cemetery plot and headstone, what he left out is that I explained I cannot pick up the slack for my siblings disregard for their promise to pay mom's funeral because I was diagnosed in July 2024 with stage 3C cancer and cannot work. I told him this and he only verbally argued with me. I want to emphasize that there was NO letters or emails - nothing - from the time that I received the bill in July and when he came by my house ONE. MONTH. LATER.

I also called the funeral home after he came to my house, spoke with a lady secretary and gave her my name and phone number and insisted on a return phone call. It never came. This people are cowards when I call and no one contacts me back (I guess showing up at people's houses is your only method of communication after the first invoice? No emails? No certified letters?) and Mr. A******* is a liar when I make a complaint on BBB. Shady business practices!

Stay away from my house, stalker! Going to someone's house unannounced one month after sending a bill is shark-like salemanship at best and creepy at worst!

      NO Regards,

      ******** **********
your account is past due," an email or phone call. Nothing. Today (20 August, 2024), while on the phone with my oncology team, I hear a banging on my front door. I answer it & it is D*** from the funeral home! At first I was confused but I soon discovered that he came to my house to personally give me another bill & issue a warning about my obligation to pay. I explained that my siblings are supposed to pay & I can't pay it as I have advanced cancer & I am not working. He either didn't listen or didn't care. I was reminded that since I signed the statement, it is my obligation to pay. I am so upset. I have never had a business come to my house unannounced to personally remind me of my bill. This was only 6-7 weeks since I received my original & ONLY invoice from the company. This is unsettling at best, creepy at worst. Imagine owing a bill for 1 month & having the company show up at your house unexpectedly instead of sending it by mail or email! It felt harassing & shark-like unprofessional behavior.

      RE: ********,  ******** **********

      At the family’s request, I
went to their house on May 30, 2024 to discuss funeral arrangements for ****
      **********.  After ****’s passing, I met
      with family to finalize arrangements.
Funeral Mass, day and times were discussed and the Contract was signed
by both ******** and Robert **********.

      The Memorial Service was
held on June 14, 2024 at St. Lawrence Church. The family had the signed
Contracts showing what the charges were.
We mailed the bill in July (which she mentions receiving in the fifth
sentence of her complaint).  When there
was no response, we mailed another bill in August to the same address, 542
      Roebling Road, Cincinnati, OH 45238.
When there was no response again, we made a telephone call to the number
given to us by ********, and the phone had been disconnected.

      Because we had no
responses to mailed bills, and the telephone was disconnected, on August 20,
2024 I went by the address to see if they were still there.  ******** answered the door and said her
brother and sister “reneged” on paying and she cannot pay the bill.

We have copies of the signed
Contracts,  which show the arrangements chosen
and the amount owed for our services.

      Sincerely,

      D**** B. A*******
      Funeral Director
