      I have a complaint regarding Mercy Health West Hospital, dba Mercy Health – The Heart Institute West. On 10/25/23, I was admitted to this hospital's Coronary Unit for observation and testing. I was subsequently discharged the following day – 10/26/23. During this time, I was allegedly provided care by a non-Mercy resident, a “roaming” physician – Dr. Pranav T**** MD, who is associated with ** ****** **** *********. After my discharge, I was notified by my insurance carrier – ****** **** ********** ******, that Dr. T***l was not a “preferred” physician by BC/BS, and therefore his charges were not covered by them. These charges by Dr. T**** amounted to nearly $3000. I later received a billing from ** ****** **** ********* for $2823.53, which I was obligated to pay. I paid this amount, out of pocket, on 1/9/24. My complaint is that I believe Mercy West Hospital has an obligation to inform their patients when services they provide aren't covered by a patient's insurance. I never met Dr. T****, I never was informed that my insurance wouldn't cover his charges, and that I would be liable for any and all services he provided. I find this practice to not only by extremely unfair, but also unethical, inexcusable and plainly an extremely poor way to treat their patients and conduct business. For this reason, I would give Mercy West Hospital an “F” rating and a warning to other patients to check their insurance coverage with the hospital staff, if possible.

      Paid upfront for procedure on 10/6/23 $830.24. Continue to get past due bill for different amounts $4048.05 then $3,995.53. 10/29/23 then 11/29/23- contacted 11/7/23 said it would be taken care of. Called again 12/27/23, and it hadn't been corrected. Billing department is TERRIBLE!!

      This company Covenant Health is a horrible company. They should be taken out of business. They ruin peoples credit because they can’t get their act together. I paid my bill on 12/6 same day of my service and it was cashed and they keep sending me late notices. I have already called and calling them back today. A manager was suppose to call me back and that was 7 weeks ago and never heard back so I assumed it was resolved. Today I get another final notice. I am so frustrated right now. I have been on hold for about 25 Minutes. Great customer service this is ridiculous. I am currently thinking of changing the hospital that I go too because of this company. I give them a zero star.
