Christ Hospital is ripping patients off by their coding system, meaning incorrectly coding the appointment, there charging more than should be. My family doctor sent a request into the pain management to get an epidural, when the pain management called me, I had to do a Consult visit, basically for them to say yes I can get one. Scheduled the appointment, I am self pay, I was told that the visit was ****** but with me being self pay, that I had to pay ***** for the CONSULT visit. I paid that the day of my visit. About a week and a half later, I get this text bill from a department for ******, I then also get a bill for ***** later (2 separate bills). I have called to dispute both. For the 64 dispute, they said they reviewed and it was coded correctly, so now they act like it can't be disputed again. Something about a new patient, when I set the appointment up there was nothing said about any additional fees possibly. I mean my God this was just a consult visit, didn't even see a doctor. Not sure where my dispute is with the ****** as every time I call, I'm directed to another number. How many people do you think these hospitals s**** over by their coding system, and how would anyone know if they were getting overcharged? I know I am for like I said, a consult visit only, nothing more. I never did care for Christ Hospital, why I left my doctor there to see someone else, but now this just confirms my feelings about Christ Hospital. *********** system is nothing but a scam! Shame on you!

The Christ Hospital billing department seems fraudulent. I fought cancer last year so I have had many many bills. I prepaid bills on two different occasions and then was sent another bill after I prepaid. It took me several times on the phone to get corrected. I also was given estimates before each procedure showing what it would cost, what my coinsurance was and offered a 10% discount if I prepaid.....which I did. Now, Christ is sending me bills which are anywhere from 20-40% over the estimate. Basically, whatever my insurance did not cover they put off on me the patient. The insurance company and the hospital negotiate the price. This has resulted in $18,000 I still owe! I requested they discount the balance and was told I could get 5% off for paying in full. St E gave me 55% off the ***** 60%. Not Christ. They really put the screws to their patients. I will not return moving forward. Why does Christ negotiate price with the insurance company then charge whatever they want and put it off on the patient? Again, seems fraudulent. Not sure what I can do about it though.

I would NEVER recommend this hospital. I was a medical POA for a 70 yr old man. He was an alcoholic. He went into Christ Hospital for an overnight stay for a bronchoscope. The doctor postponed the test because she was too busy, by the next day he was in detox. He wasnt very presentable when he went in, but because of his condition and the way he looked, they basically wrote him off. They severely over- medicated him to the point of almost being unconscious. They put him in a 4 point restraint because he kicked. They didnt give him fluids the whole time (8 days) that he was out of it. It went downhill from there. He coded, but survived. They then put in a feeding tube which he didnt want. He was put in ICU . He had a MRI in which they put him on a vent for, because he did have a lung infection. The dr promised to take him off of it the next day. Even though he didnt need the vent after they test, the dr was too busy with sicker patients to remove it. He was on it for 5 days, which then compromised his swallowing. He ended up being in the hospital 45 days. They couldnt discharge him because he was still restrained and would pull out the feeding tube. To get him out they pulled a fast one by discharging one minute, took off the restraints, pulled out the feeding tube and catheter( which they had to leave in because at the final tally, he had been restrained on his back for 32 day and his skin was compromised). The never even rotated him to his sides. They then quickly re- admitted him to geriatric psych. He was there for 7 days until I could get him into a nursing home, where he passed away. He was treated as a third class citizen at Christ it was mostly the doctors, which were rotated so often none of them could answer questions because they were new in the case. It was a horrible experience and I would never go there. The patient advocate office only advocated for the hospital and I was basically blown off when I asked for help while he was in there.

Would not recommend ****** Hospital system to anyone. Unresponsive and unprofessional. Had a bad poison ivy rash and received a steroid treatment. After being told to request a refill if conditions persisted, my refill request was denied. I called back every day for a week to understand why my prescription refill was denied. Meanwhile, still dealing with an itchy poison ivy rash. After a week of calling back every day (apparently the doctor could not be bothered to respond), I was told I had to come in for a new appointment. Appointment lasted about **** minutes to confirm I had the same poison ivy rash I had the month before. Received a new prescription for the same medicine and was charged for another appointment. Given the circumstances, I disputed the charge for the appointment with ****** Hospital. Mind you, I only disputed the charge for the additional appointment, not the refill fee. I was assured someone would follow up within a couple days. No one followed up. For 3 months, I received outstanding bill notices in the mail, for 3 months I called back asking for status on the disputed charge, for 3 months I was assured this would be resolved in a matter of days. Finally, after calling back yet again today, they let me know the bill remains "patient responsibility" and I need to pay the fee or be sent to collections. I guess I will pay the bill given no other choice, but will never be visiting ****** Hospital again and hope this review steers others away from making the same mistake.
