    I had ordered a pair of Diabetic Shoes and Inserts AFTER being told twice that my out of pocket cost would only be $85.00. I specifically inquired about this as I had previously been told differing prices. My insurance at the time the shoes were ordered was ******* ****** ** ****. Upon the shoes arrival, I paid the $85.00 out of pocket as quoted to me twice. I was no longer insuraed as I had changed jobs when picking the shoes up. The shoes took several weeks to make. Now, I am receiving a bill for $200.00 in the mail. I was told my out of pocket price would be $85.00 twice. I will not be paying anymore money; nor, will I use this Company ever again.

    We are sorry for the confusion on this issue.  When *** ***** came to us on 3/15/2023 for diabetic shoes and three pairs of custom diabetic inserts, as a courtesy, we called his insurance and checked his coverage online.  Both indicated his projected out-of-pocket cost would be approximately $85.75.  As always, the insurance makes no guarantee of coverage as it is based on medical review.  *** ***** paid the $85.75 at the time of final delivery of the products/services on 4/18/2023, which then became the date of service for the insurance billing.

    It was a surprise to us, as we were unaware that *** ******* insurance coverage terminated on 4/7/2023.  At this point, we have discounted our original charge of $518.00 down to $285.82 less the $85.75 already paid, leaving a balance of $200.07.

    If *** ***** would provide us with his new insurance (effective on 4/18/2023, we would check his coverage again; or we could provide a payment plan.  Regardless of this outcome, *** ***** needs to protect his feet and should have follow-up services by specialty providers like Kempf Surgical.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is not satisfactory.  I will not deal with this business again.  I specifically asked that my Coverage be checked as several years ago I was quoted over $1000 for a pair of shoes and of course did not purchase them.  My new insurance information is as follows:  ****** Members ID ************  Group No. **********; Plan *** *.. (******* County) ... if more information is needed please let me know.
