I have used Apollo a few times prior. THIS call was to fix my rental house AC which had stopped working in the heat of July. I got speedy [within 24 hrs] service and tech showed on time. He said he diagnosed my problem which was 'my old AC unit needed replacing for $6000-9000' or he COULD 'replace coolant because there's an obvious leak which would cost $3000.' My response and prequel were that this AC has worked perfectly for 22 years. I didn't have ANY of those thousands of $s to replace or repair and that I would 'find a friend referred repair.' A friend referred a 1-man operation who also came in 1-day and not quite on time but neither was I. He replaced coolant and cleaned the exterior unit and charged me less than ****** to actually FIX my problem vs [IMO] scare me into buying a new AC system. I wish ****** had sent me an actual repairman vs an advance-man who tries to sell new expensive units I [hopefully] didn't need. Apollo have lost me as a client and I'm sad I wasted $ on a service call that gave me no service. Again, ****** were courteous, on-time, friendly and seemingly knowledgeable, BUT I spent $89 for a guy to possibly attempt to sell me THOUSANDS of $s of goods which were actually $200 from an actual AC repairman. I'll gladly amend this IF my system indeed fails or leaks coolant again. BTW, I wanted to leave a ZERO star review.

After some work by Apollo, I told the plumber that I thought it was a dishonest company. The young man then said that Apollo wanted to keep us as a customer, so he was authorized to give us their Service Plan FREE for a year--and I fell for it. But, it was a lie--Apollo is charging us monthly for the "free" plan. We called to complain, and the lady on the phone said she would reimburse the first month and cancel the billing for the future months. We have crossed Apollo off our phone list, with the notation "Dishonest--DO NOT USE."

Today, we had to call a plumber to get our leaking faucet fixed. Simply it needed a new cartridge that value at $50 ~$60 at local hardware shop. We called Apollo and requested a plumber. They charge $89 just to visit. Apollo guy came to house and check the faucet and it will cost $800+ to put new cartridge. No one in right mind would pay $800+ for this job. He charged $89 fee and went back within 10 minutes. I guess this how they make profit.

Apollo Home does a lot of advertising & we assumed they were reputable. We requested a check up of our furnace after receivinga mailing. The service man told us there was a crack in the heat exchange and that we need a new furnace. He tagged the furnace as dangerous & said he would email photos. We had also asked about getting vents cleaned. (No photos received) The next day a young woman came - we thought to quote vent cleaning. No - she was there to sell us a furnace & planned to spend 1-2 hrs doing so. We decided to get other inspections & contacted 2 reputable companies. Both said there was no problem & no need to replace the furnace at this time. Cannot recommend Apollo after our experience.

Hi ****** thank you for sharing your experience with us. We apologize for the confusion you encountered during our visit. We have tried to contact Mr. B**** via phone and you via email. The heat exchanger has a large crack just through the high limit, so the specialist turned off the gas, and tagged it as unsafe to use until repaired or replaced. If you are interested, we would like to schedule a senior technician to actually show you the issues in person on their camera. Our technicians are specifically trained to help customer’s identify safety concerns. Please give us a call at ************. Thanks!

I scheduled a service call to Apollo to re-do some plumbing in a second floor bathroom I was remodeling. We went to the basement to the main water supply, & he immediately starting pointing out repairs I needed (main water valve replacement) before he would even do the simple plumbing job. Then began the service plan spiel with the job costing about $1,800 if I got the “service plan”, or about $2500 if I did not. I sent him away. This sounds like a scam to me. How do they stay in business? I was able to find a plumber who did my roughing in for the tub, AND came back to complete the faucet/shower fixture installation after I completed the tub portion of remodel. He only charged $250 total, and was very nice, offered information, & told me to call if I had any questions. I will NEVER USE Apollo again, & I will tell everyone I know about this experience

*****! Thanks for reaching out to Apollo. Looks like this was a service call from way back in February. As the premium **** Service provider in the ********** area, I am incredibly pleased that our plumber, James, took time during the visit to review your entire plumbing system. That is a necessity to make sure we are not making band-aid repairs or installing a new item that will wear down faster when hi water pressure is present. According to the notes on the job, you did in fact have high water pressure (it was reading at 150), hence the need for the pressure-reducing valve on the estimate along with the emergency shut-offs for the lavatory, the customer-supplied shower valve installation, and the return visit for the shower trim kit installation. Apollo's pricing is very strategic to ensure we are able to hire, train, and retain the best technicians, provide the very best customer experience, and give back to the community we love. We were obviously unable to clearly show why we offer the best value in the area for plumbing services and that is why I would like to return the $79 trip charge you paid back in February. We are not in the business of trying to make money off of people who were not satisfied with our service.

Not good. They do part of the work then you must follow up to get the work finished. Then they come out same guy to correct the problem, then steals your copper wire, and calls it a day.During 2021 I reached out to Apollo Home for an electric panel inspection / upgrade. The man ****** came out to my house assured me that I needed to replace the panel I agreed and suggested to go with a 200AMP service, he did the work same day. Everything looked good, worked fine, he left. Didnt hear anything back, he mentioned about an inspection, but didnt explain any further, so since I heard nothing from the company I started to look into who I needed to call or do, I called ************ they told me that they didnt have permits and didnt know about the panel upgrade. Then Im sitting worrying, but since everything seemed to be ok, I thought they would do me right, and someone would come out and inspect the work.. since I paid them over $7500 for this upgrade About a year later I call Apollo, tell them I havent heard anything from them and I havent had an inspection, they tell me it was because of Covid.. a whole year so they got me set up with an inspection. The inspector comes out, fails. They have to come out its a ground wire to the water line. The copper wire was already there it just wasnt attached, there was an excessive amount of extra copper wire, they sent out the same guy from a year ago (******) he corrects it, but then takes my extra copper he cut, without asking me what I wanted to do with it.This company is terrible, I would warn people to not use them. They have guarantees but they would only offer me $100 at best $150 credit towards future services and I dont want their services nor their employees coming back to my house again. Stay away and dont use them. They are expensive and they have some sketchy employees all around!

************. Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this concern. I am very glad that your panel has now passed the inspection and everything is in good working order. After thoroughly investigating the process back in July it became evident that we did not complete the final step of our internal permit procedure and thus the permit was not pulled and the inspection was never scheduled. As you pointed out above, as soon as we were made aware of the missing permit/inspection we completed those steps and corrected any issues the inspector identified. Due to the frustrating experience, we would love to offer you a refund of 5% of the total price you paid, in the amount of $284.04 (the actual price you paid was significantly less than what you stated in your post). I will go ahead and get this refund process for you right now. thank you again for your review.

The price I paid was roughly $5,700, but if your in a situation that I was in, were it was a have to emergency situation because water had been getting into my panel from outside my house causing phases of my electric to go out. I NEEDED an electric repair /upgrade! So out of desperation and I thought of a company that I could trust. (Obviously not) I did not use financing I used my own credit card and the interest that Ive paid over the year that I waited and thought that the whole process was complete could easily add up more than a $200 refund. You guys think its a joke to make thousands of people who dont have it. Especially if its serious situation! And totally take advantage of and try to wipe your hands clean and say well it took a year and the works finally complete! Who cares if you already paid us in advance and we never completed the work until you called US back to finish it! Unbelievable! This company is so unacceptable. Profits first, customers last! We were quoted for a job that required up to 20ft of pipe to be replaced, to dig under our sidewalk and that the job would take a good portion of the day. The actual job was only 5-6 ft of piping replaced, no digging under the sidewalk and took about 1 1/2 hours to complete. The technicians were absolutely amazing and did a great job, but we were still charged for the original quote of the job. I understand that I was required to sign a contract and provide payment information prior to the job even starting, and that I am liable for that amount, but when the actual job differs that much versus the actual quote, the company should re-evaluate and provide updated pricing to the customer and work on a settled amount. I will note that I did call the original quoter and he knocked 1/8th of the price off of the job, but I was still not satisfied with the price of the actual work completed. I completed the survey they sent to me with my honest opinion, and the next day the office called. They asked for more information regarding my complaint and I mentioned everything above. They notified me they would talk to their service manager and reach out to me within 24 hours. I received no follow-up, but did receive a small credit on my method of payment. I feel truly taken advantage of with the entire situation because of how much the job should have actually cost and what I was charged. I am happy that some credits were applied, but I still paid double what I feel the job should have cost. I don't feel that Apollo took care of the customer in this situation and I feel taken advantage of. I have paid my invoice in full and understand that I am responsible for it, but the estimate vs actual was not handled properly on their end and I will not be using them in the future for this reason. I trusted them with the work and they did a great job, but I do not feel comfortable with how much they charge and how they handle disputes.

My quote for a hot water heater was $3541. I thought that was to high and I showed him a coupon ad from Apollo for $1199. He refigured my estimate and it came up to $3726. Both estimates came with a 6 year parts and labor warranty. I have the quotes sent to me on July 9th 2022. I have since found a reasonable BBB plumber. How can they stay a BBB member and keep a good rating with that kind of business practice?
