I went to this pottery shop to paint a piece of pottery with 19 other women. You come back in a week to pick up your pottery after it has been burned in a kiln. I was warned before I left to be cautious about when I came back to pick it up...it was a vague warning that I kind of felt like was trivial. To dismiss my concerns, I called Mad Potters on Monday to ease my mind about what I was told. The girl the answered the phone said she could not guarantee me anything even though I had a receipt proving the piece that I painted and paid for. I asked for. A manager and she said there was no manager but I could call back and talk to owner on a few days. I called back when she told me to and owner was not there. I called back that afternoon and owner got on the phone and refused to answer my questions. In fact she kept interrupting me and talking over me and telling me she had the best pottery shop in the city for 23 years. She then started trying to make me feel guilty for calling with my concern. Once I told her about the warning I was given about when I pick up my pottery she got extremely defensive. Everything I said she would twist it and turn it into something I didn't say. She even started alluding to talking to my friends I came with and feeling threatened because I was asking the question over and over again that after 25 minutes with still no direct answer.....I knew the warning I was given was a valid warning. I told her I did not want to come back to her shop and asked her to mail me the piece if I gave her my credit card. She refused that. This person was fairly calm until I told her the warning I was given and then she got real excited with me. She down played my concern and exaggerated my communication and I realized this was her being defensive and the warning was real. I want a refund. I don't want this pottery. I want the charge reversed off my credit card immediately.
