Scheduled radon mitigation in February, scheduled for early May 6th as the soonest date. Got called on Friday April 26th and was left a voicemail saying they must move mitigation to Monday the 29th, and if I don’t call back before they close they will automatically move me to July. They reported their crew could no longer work on the day in May. They said they would come before 12pm-3pm. I requested a different time (early morning or late afternoon) as I work night shift Sunday night and Monday night and need to sleep more than 3 hours between shifts. The company said no. My only option is at that time or wait until July 16th. Radon is harmful to my health and my children’s health, so I felt I had no choice but to do it then. Missed a shift of work due to not being able to sleep and safely perform my job (taking care of pediatric leukemia patients at the hospital).

    To whom it may Concern,
Unfortunately, our technician who was assigned to do *** ******* installation had broke his foot. We had to move a number of installations around that day. Unfortunately, when we first tried to contact *** ***** about moving this installation. We weren't able to contact her and had to leave a message. Our message may not have been received the way we intended. Our intention was not to give an ultimatum but to relay information about our situation.   We do recognize the inconvenience we may have caused with a rushed installation. We have reached out to her multiple times after we've completed the installation to apologize again, we have not been able to reach her and have not received a call back. In conclusion her system has been successfully installed with passing results well below the EPA action levels.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

company did not call me to apologize. Company called me today to state they could not email me my results because they do not think they have the correct email address. The response now implies they are being dishonest. Again, they called me Friday April 26th to tell me they need to come on April the 29th and if I did not call them back my appointment would be moved. I was unable to answer the phone when they called because again, I worked night shift on Thursday night and could not answer the phone in the morning. I called them back in the afternoon. They are implying they could not get a hold of me for days when in fact it was a few hours. I understand things happen and might have to be rescheduled, but they were not flexible. They could have offered other days or at the very least been flexible with the time of day that they come. I missed out on 12 hours of work because of this. ($51/hr x 12 hours is approx. $600 of pay I missed out on due to the fault of this company). I want to emphasize that it is a company’s job to fix what is their fault. Apologizing is the bare minimum solution, and in this case they did not even apologize.

    Regards,
