So on Oct.30 2023 I had my van towed to Bob sumeral in **** **** **** with starting problem they diagnosed it as faulty fuel pump so they replaced pump. Well they put the wrong pump in because they didn't go out and look at license plate and assuming it was my old van which was a **** ***** ******* **** but the van they had or I owened at that time was a **** ***** ******* **** in less than a month the same problem happened again so took it to them and they said they replaced the fuel pump that was for the other van so after 4 days they said it was done, so went and picked it up and ran fine for another month then same problem no start so took it back again and they said they would look at it, its been a week now and no call so called them and asked if it was fixed and they said yes so go up to pick up van and van won't start same problem stuck at the shop, no start. Took my wife’s car to the location **** to have them check out noises coming from suspension. They informed us all the shocks/struts in front and rear on both sides needed to be replaced due to wear and tear rom age as well as control arms. We agreed to the expense although I feel it was high. Few days after the car gets done we hear noise coming from under car again and call and are told to bring the car back in. Due to our family schedule and my wife’s and my work schedule it was about 2 weeks before we got it back in there.
They tried saying my wife took the car “off roading” and caused damage to the right front and there was “a lot of mud” under that area. We went back and got eyes on. The “mud” was actually grease from the drive shaft boot. There was no damage to undercarriage. All we saw was the sway bar that had replaced on right side had come un done. It looked like a ball and socket joint that had come apart. I stated that it looked like either a faulty part or they fixed it wrong. They insisted that it could not just be “pushed back together” at my request. They also showed my wife and I that the left side and both sides of the rear suspension were still fine and they did not see anything that caused concern in the other three suspension areas. Siting my wife’s and kids safety I agreed to $1600 charge for the newest repair.
The next day my wife was out and about, heard a bang and the car immediately leaned to the left and she stopped where she was at. The car got towed to Dent location where they informed us the sway bar on the left side has failed. Same part as right side that they said was our fault. They agreed to repair left side for free. We feel we are owed the $1600 since the right side failed and the day after another repair was done same part on left side failed but they will replace that one for free.Business Response

According to our Car Care Management team the member came in with the request to fix the issues with his car. The work orders were signed and approved then paid for. The next day the member came in with an additional issue that was fixed at no charge to the customer. The store management has attempted to resolve the issues with the member who now wants a refund. The business did not address the problem at hand. The issue is the day AFTER we paid $1668 for repairs to my wife’s car, the same repairs had to be made on the drivers side, which the company covered the cost. This is where the complaint comes in. If the same repairs had to be made on the drivers side a day after we paid for the same parts to be replaced on the passengers side, less than 30 days from having a major suspension replacement, then we should be refunded for the service on 11/20. The manager attached paperwork from the ORIGINAL a service in October, and again from 11/20. But none from 11/21 which they did at no cost showing they replaced the same parts on the drivers side a day after replacing those parts on the passenger side and telling my wife and I that the drivers side and rear suspension parts were just fine.

my Nissan Pathfinder to the Aurora Indiana location for oil changes and repairs that needed to be done. I had my pathfinder towed their on 09/23/2023 due my car overheating. My car was looked at on Monday and was advised that my radiator had a leak and I needed a new radiator, thermostat and a coolant flush. I was already on the books to have an oil change that Monday as well. Work was completed and we paid 1552 and some change for everything. My in laws went to pick my Nissan for me and paid it. Received my car back and I was told oil change was not done. Car was working fine for the next couple of days and then on 09/29/2023 I took my kids with me to an appointment and my car over heated again. Called AAA and it was towed down again and was kept all weekend and had no idea what was wrong with it. After a few days in the shop since they were awaiting the lead tech and was then advised that I needed another part (cooling fan controller) unable to find a part that the only way to really get it was to purchase a cooling assembly which ruffly would be another 800 dollars or so just for the part. I don't understand how this wasn't figured out the first time. My car now is at a different shop to be looked at. This is very inconvenient for me. My car is under warranty for the work they did and then again two days later after my car was supposedly fixed it overheats and it is due for another part. We are disputing the charges on the credit card due to this.Business Response

I made an appointment today for an oil change advertised on the neon sign outside the business Bob Sumerel/AAA and got the coupon from AAA selling an oil change for $16.99 for AAA members which I have been for over 35 years. James asked if I was dropping it off and I said I will be next door at the gym, he then asked if I wanted a tire rotation and I asked how much is that and he said it was included. He said, "I say something because people wonder why we take the tires off". I left my keys and was later called by James (after completing the job) trying to sell me tires - which I asked for an estimate. Never once was I told the price was not more than as advertised. The bill it was $81.22! More than five times the advertised price! I said, what is this - it's advertised for $16.99 on your sign - James said "yes, that is kind of misleading and I wasn't the first customer upset" . Kind of misleading! It is a bold faced lie, fraud, deception and bait and switch! This is the Bob Sumerel/AAA located at *** **** **** in ****** *****. AAA said to take it up with the manager who by the way said "we cant do anything its corporate". I had to pay to get my keys. I was very upset and left when I heard another employee whisper we should call the police. They know they are being underhanded by not saying anything right up front.Business Response

Just received both letters from you dated 11/13/2023 and 11/22/2023 so I have not had time to respond before you closed it out. As for Bob Sumerel's response - first it is a lie .....the rep NEVER said a thing about the difference in oil...that is where the problem lies. They 'gave' all kinds of info about what happens when checking the tires and made a call to tell me new tires were needed but NEVER once said anything about the oil change would be more that advertised (by coupon and billboard sign in front of business). NOT BEING UP-FRONT IS THE ISSUE HERE. Now since I filed the complaint almost immediately Bob Sumerel refunded the entire charge (I only asked for the difference between the charge and coupon). Seems a little too convenient -- they tell you they did nothing wrong but do not tell you they reversed the charge and lie about what they said. I brought this to attention because I was not the only one affected by this - per the clerks words, "yea, its misleading and there have been lots of complaints". Liars and scammers.Initial Complaint

I took my car in because it was leaking antifreeze from a hose on the firewall. I told them exactly where it was coming from .They looked at it and called me back and said it was the water pump and the radiator . I said that it was weird because I didn’t see anything antifreeze coming from water pump area or radiator and he replied that those leaks are not easy to detect and it might seem like it was coming from hose in firewall but in fact it wasn’t. So I told him to do the repairs if they were sure that was the problem. The repairs for the water pump and radiator was $2200. They did those repairs and called me to tell me that it was in fact the heater core that was leaking and coming out the hose in firewall which I originally told them. They said to fix that it would be another $1000. I complained telling them that was what I told them when I brought it in. He replied that it wasn’t leaking there when the did there diagnosis which I find hard to believe because it was leaking there when I brought it in. I feel like I should only be responsible for the heater core repair because that what was causing the leak and they did not diagnose it correctly.Business Response

I took my **** ******* ****** to the ****** ******** AAA location for an AC compressor replacement on 8-23-23. We were quoted around $375 plus tax to replace. The master mechanic has since made my vehicle worse. Now it isn’t drivable. The blower motor doesn’t work, won’t shift, no power windows, no HVAC, no radio, no OBD. When I took the car in everything worked besides the AC compressor. It ran fine. Now I am without a vehicle as a mom of 2 kids. The assistant manager has been fantastic. The manager and master mechanic have been rude and unprofessional and now I may need a new vehicle altogether. I was told they didn’t have cooperates number.Business Response

Spent over $4,000 within 6wk period. The last time they fixed my car only drove it a couple times to work and then on a non work night noticed radiator fluid leaking and took photos. Place water able to get home. Had towed to a second place for 2nd opinion. Told would be a couple thousand and based on the records I provided was told AAA should fix the car. I called them and told would have to go up higher chain and was give phone number. Never received a call back after Teo weeks of no response had car towed back to AAA. After one week called and wanted to know what the problem was and told they didn't know what to do with car which is nonsense because I had called and spoken to them about it so they knew what to do. After two more weeks told non one there to work all the techs out except like one. I have not had a car in over a month now. I wanted payment for my ***** to work, my tow fees and fees for groceries that I have to have delivered because I am single and have nooney left. No one will take care of the problem. Seth stated he was very sorry and was not only going to reimburse me for all previous work but repair my car. He said he would also pay for all **** fees and any grocery fees that had to be delivered. He was going to get me a rental car and pay back my membership. He tried once to out it on my credit card but told him it didn't go through . He was suppose to call back and do it but have not heard from him in almost two after saying he would keep me updated and pay me back. He won't return my calls now and still don't have my car . I don't know what to do I told him I was going to find a lawyer but still looking. I want them to honor what they said they would do and fix my car and keep me updated like they said they would. I have been without my car for 2onths now. I was suppose to travel nurse but losing income thst way because they are not doing what they said they would do

I am glad that I will be getting my car back but he still has not not what he said he would do. I still have not been reimbursed for all my **** fees and towing. I have lost employment pay due to this taking so long. I was to do travel nursing and have instead had to pay over 400.00 a month just to get to my current work. They left my car will loose hoses and who know what it did to my car. I only ask that he completes what he promised me the last time we spoke. He hasn't kept me updated at all since the initial contact when told what was going on with it.

I had a second mechanic look at and here are just a few things wrong with car. I am working with the Attorney General office as well and will be requesting 15000.00 . This car needed some repairs but not to this extent. It was it great shape and only needed a few repairs which I paid for over 4100 and they still couldn't fix it???? I have a mechanic and they last people who worked on car who will speak on my behalf. They ruined my car and still didn't fix it. They caused me loss of financial work and stress and without a car for five months which I had to pay for ***** to work.

On 6/19 I took my daughters car into this facility to find out why it was running rough. I was told that they would run a dianostic test and let me know. Two days later Garth S***** called and said it was the motor and we needed new engine. He convinced me and my daughter that her resale value would double with new engine. They were told to order new engine on 6/22. They were paid in full $6977.80on that date and advised us new engine would be in and work done by 6/30. After several weeks of calling and begging to get car, they finally called on 7/18 that it was done. I asked for warranty paperwork and was told all the paperwork was missing. Two days later we found the paperwork in the car and found where a used engine was purchased with 81442 miles and it was installed. I feel that they not only took advantage of a female but a senior to boot. They did not do as promised and when confronted they threatened to call the police.Business Response

For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.As per our, conversation, at no time was a contract signed by me nor my daughter for the work on the **** **** ******. I signed nothing when I picked up the vehicle. The only thing that I ever signed was for the diagnostic test to be performed. IMy daughter and myself was told on three separate occasions by Garth S***** that the motor was a crate motor. At no time was it ever divulged that a used motor was bought and used. As far as the engine light coming on after 200 miles, we were told that it was from an old part used and that it would cost more money to repair and before it was ever discussed again we were told to get out and not come back or they would call the police. The only thing that we have for a warranty is 12 months or 12000 miles that I have attached to this email along with note from Nicole.

AAA bob sumerel installed incorrect and non functional rack /pinion and power steer pump on my car as the correct parts are no longer available.
As a result I now have broken horn, flashing air bag light and no power steering.

Original transaction date 3/2/23. But dealing with after affects of issues since end of June 2023.

Went in for routine oil change and filters changed. The did test and said my battery needed to be replaced so I replaced battery as well.
End of June I reached out to AAA to get a jump because car would not start that morning. I had to get to work so drove other vehicle. When I got home AAA sent a truck to look at battery and he said it needed to be replaced and he did not have one n the truck for me. but told me to just take it where I got is and I could get new battery. I then call the western hills location and Ricky told me that I should bring cars up and he will test and see if the battery needs replaced and would take care of it. I also got my other vehicle serviced the day after this one so I wanted him to check it as well. I then on a Friday called AAA and they sent someone out to jump my vehicle so I could take it up to AAA westen Hills where Ricky said for me to do. AAA driver tells me that the battery is old and should not have been put in my vehicle I showed him the receipt of perchase and he said it is not a battery from this year. then he also said that the battery was dead dead and wouldnt keep a charge. so he told me to just take the battery up to AAA western hills and they can test it there and get a new one. I drove there and Ricky was not there and his staff knew nothing about the situation. I explained it they said that could not have happened. Had them test the vehicle i had but they would not do anything with other battery since i didnt have the car. I said I spoke with Ricky and he is who I need to talk to. left and went to work. called Ricky and he told me that he didnt remeber me and that his guys would not put an old battery in my vehicle. I have picures and receipt of this. the battery has been sitting since 11/21 if not before. that is what the sticker says.Business Response
