1 starI was told there was a big gash on the inside of a tire and I would need a new tire and then because the tread pattern wouldn't match I should buy 2. I had a slightly used tire that matched from another similar situation so I said I'd use that tire. They don't mount used tires so I went somewhere else. They could not find a gash at all at the other place. I think I was lied to so they could sell me 2 tires. I was a long time customer for all my tires and oil changes and a 48 year AAA member but I will not be back for anymore of this kind of treatment.Review fromKim S.

Unorganized, unprofessional, and overcharges customers. This location failed to call me to update me on my vehicle. If I hadn't called 15 minutes before they closed, I would have been waiting 2 days to learn what was wrong with my vehicle. This business also tried to sell me products that I didn't need telling me that the part I needed wasn't sold as an individual part, so that I would have to buy the entire assembly kit totaling over $800.00 for sales & services. When I declined the service and arrived to pick up my car, a mechanic handed me someone else's car keys and sent me to a lot that didn't have my car. I didn't realize that I had someone else's car keys until the panic button revealed a different color vehicle of the same make & model. When my tow truck arrived, and the driver went inside to help look for my car, I discovered my car in the shop up on the lift. AAA Bob Sumerel Tire & Service had removed all 4 of my tires, and were about to put brakes on my car which is black, thinking it was the white Chevy Traverse. I, along with the tow truck driver, and my ride, had to wait for my tires to be put back on my vehicle before the car could be towed, and I could leave. At the time, there was no apology, and/or explanation. When I called the manager the next day to explain the situation, he said he was sorry, and that it was an "honest mistake." Unfortunately, I had to pay for the mistake.Bob Sumerel Tire & Service Co LLC

Terrible company. DO NOT go there and buy tires. Bought a set a few years ago that only lasted about 35,000 miles. They blamed ****** Tires stating that it could have been a bad batch of tires. So I went last February to buy another set and they recommended ****** Tires again. Well, went to them today to have the tires rotated and this set is already cupping so bad that they probably won't last another year. And guess what? They blamed ****** Tires again! instead of standing behind the products that they sell, they pass the blame onto someone else. And they are refusing to do anything about it. Terrible company, they don't stand behind anything they sell or do. The only reason they get 1 star is because there is not an option to give them 0 stars. Any and all All-Season radial DOT tires will unevenly wear in the event the tires are not properly maintained. These types of tires require regularly scheduled maintenance such as mileage interval-based tire rotations, proper inflation levels, proper wheel balance, and that the vehicle is properly aligned with the 4- wheel suspension alignment. Vehicle age and condition also can and will contribute as bad or worn-out suspension Ride Control parts will negatively impact proper wear and life expectancy of tires. Regardless of any contributing factors, customer was contacted, invited back into the repair facility, and an amicable settlement was reached as to standby are products and company name. 1 starI have had uncomfortable encounters at this location in the past. Mostly in the 2000s. Guys at the front desk that are condescending and rude. The last time I went in for tire work it was a much more pleasant interaction. Maybe because I am older now and am provided some level of respect? Not sure.
So when AAA/Bob Sumerel sent me a coupon for a $19.99 oil change I thought I would give them another try. I typically use ********* Instant Oil Change. After my truck was pulled in to the bay I mentioned to the man at the desk that I had a coupon. He said, "I already put it in." I said OK. I assumed he was getting a lot of these lately as AAA was sending them to all members.
After service was performed i was presented a bill for just under $80. I mentioned the $19.99 coupon. he said synthetic oil is more. read the fine print. i noticed it in very fine print. I asked if the difference in 5 quarts of conventional oil vs 5 quarts of synthetic oil is really $60. I told him I thought in was only a couple of dollars per quart. He didn't answer the question. He just stated I needed to read the fine print and that unfortunately AAA keeps running these misleading coupons.
So I contacted AAA. A case manager sent me a message stating that they opened a ticket and have reached out to the location. 10 days later I reached back out to the case manager for AAA and let her know I had not heard anything. She stated that she is an intermediary and would contact the store manager again. Still I have heard nothing. I have made 2 contacts about a mere $60 and have not heard anything back.
So I thought leaving a review here might get a response. Its not about the money. Its about respecting me as a customer. If I pulled this stuff in my business (bait and switch) I would be looking for different work.Review fromAaron G

1 starHad tires replaced at Florence location after pothole damage to tire on car. Showed them the wheel where damage occurred, assured it was fine to drive on and replace a tire, and was not bent. Suggested tire resulted in spongy, unstable ride. Tires weren't balanced and vibrated horridly. Had them replace with a higher end tire. Still unbalanced and driving horridly. Asked manager to personally review balancing, and was assured it would be done. New tires on a vehicle with less than 17,000 miles - the wheel weights were stuck in layers on top of one another - nearly a pound of weight on each of the wheels. Wildly unsafe - wildly inappropriate. The wheel(s) are bent and the store said nothing. Many people would drive like this and result eventually in an out of control situation, or very early uneven wear to tires for even more dangerous situations. AVOID!Review fromDiana D

1 starI took my car in for an oil change, and the shop called my back and told me that they noticed my power steering system was leaking and insisted I get it replaced. I never noticed any issues - no leaking on my garage floor, but I trusted the garage and ok'd the fix - resulting in a $2000 bill for a full power steering system replacement (except for the reservoir and the hoses). A couple weeks later, I noticed that my car was NOW leaking fluid onto my garage floor. I took it right back into the shop and they told me the power steering fluid reservoir developed a hairline crack and needed to be replaced. They also told me that because they "did not touch the reservoir", I would be charged an ADDITIONAL $500-1000 for the repair. After talking to the shop more, they told me when they did the original power steering replacement, they DID access the tank to conduct a power steering flush, which involves tapping into the system AT THE RESERVOIR. However, they still insisted the leak was in NO WAY their fault and that I would still be charged the entire additional $500-1000 fix to replace the hairline fracture. (Sidenote, when the manager told the mechanic how much he was charging me for the fix, the mechanic was VISABLLY surprised after making the comment "that's an easy and cheap repair!" and the manager replied "I quoted her $500") I think it is incredibly fishy that I saw no leaking from the power steering system until AFTER the shop convinced me to pay $2000 for a full system replacement (when I was only planning on getting a regular oil change). I am now wondering if (1) the garage convinced me to fix my entire power steering system for no reason (they misdiagnosed the original leak) or (2) if they broke the tank during the original repair and refuse to own up to the mistake.Review fromPat N

1 starTerrible! I’m finished with them after 30 years. The last 5 years they have gone down hill. 2 sets of rotors failed. One in a year, the next after 5 months. While they replaced them at no charge they said that will be the last because the shocks were causing the problem. I took it to 2 different mechanics and they said shocks were fine. Also they were supposed to rotate tires, they didn’t . I HAD THEM MARKED. They did the same thing a year ago. A tire had leak and needed repair and rotation. Drove the car 3 hrs and same tire leaked. They said it was another nail. REALLY.Review fromDannie T

When the business was alerted on the issue, management addressed immediately and is currently taking care of the customer at store level. Rental car accommodations have been made, and any additional repair expense is being covered at no cost to the customer. Although there was an issue, we are doing everything on our end to make this right.Review fromMatthew M

1 starHorrible place. Sent my wife for free tire rotation. Told her not to agree to anything else. Pressured her into getting an alignment. Free rotation is a joke! Manager Scott B***** was rude and told me to educate myself! I was educated to never go there again!
