  A friend referred me to Danny H for removal of a tree and stump. In December, 2021, he gave me a price of $2,800 and time frame (3 days) to remove the tree. He said he was licensed, bonded, and insured. I paid $800 cash. They came for a few hours and asked for more $ because their truck was being repaired. Since the job was supposed to be done by the end of that week, and he offered to remove the stump at no additional cost, I paid $1,000 more by check. They came out several more times for a few hours at a time, but never finished even half of the job. My friend contacted Haines via text in May, 2022, asking him when he would complete the job, since H was not responding to me. They came out one more time but did very little. They damaged the garage roof but did not tell me. H wanted more $ but I said not until the job was completed. They left 2 large piles of wood on the ground. They never returned. Two attempts were made via mail, but both were returned undelivered. I have since hired another company to complete the tree and stump removal. That company charged me $50 more for the removal of the wood already on the ground. I also had my garage roof repaired, which cost me $400. I have all of the text messages between Haines and myself, as well as between my friend and Haines. I also took pictures at various times. I am attempting to either get the insurance information so I can file a claim for the additional expenses to me, or if he is in fact not covered, I am asking that Haines reimburse me for those expenses.
