French door installed in Feb 2023 at which time the installer(s) removed my original door and side lites and then realized the wrong door was ordered. We requested the project be stopped and the old door put back in to have the correct out-swing doors ordered and we were told we couldn’t do that because the old doors were damaged and couldn’t go back in. We were advised that they could get the wrong door in temporarily until we could get the right door. Needless to say they did not advise that they would damage our concrete and cut into the frame of our house. We have had two different professionals come out and inspect the damage and it is at least $4300 in damage without them getting inside to see the extent of the damage and we still have the wrong doors.

re: Zimmerman, Brittany / James response
      From: **** ********

In February 2023 my company was contracted to replace the French entry door with 2 side-lights, in the house. We were contracted by Bi-Tor contracting, an installation contractor for Lowes home improvement, to do the work.  The door had been delivered, by Lowes, to the house. It was packaged in cardboard and was not exposed until we un-packaged it. We had already removed the existing door unit and when we removed the cardboard packaging we discovered the new door unit was not an outswing door, as I had previously detailed when I measured for ordering the new door. I told the owners that there had been another mistake made by Lowes or the manufacturer and that we could temporarily install the door we had and Lowes could re-order a new door and we could install it when it was ready. Mrs. Zimmerman called her husband and handed the phone to me at which time *** ********* proceeded to start screaming at me and berating me. It was decided, by the owners, that we would install the door unit and Lowes would re-order a new door for them. I told Lowes they would need to have a different installation company complete the job next time, because of the hostile attitude of the owner towards me. I have not heard a word from anyone about this job until six months later on August 15, 2023. At that time I received a work-order to contact the *********** about a problem. I called the number on the work-order and *** ********* answered and I explained why I was calling. He immediately started screaming at me again, saying that he was at work and I was never to call him at work again. He claimed we had damaged his house, and started calling me a Liar, cussing at me and saying he had estimates from other contractors for repairs. I am wondering why it took six months for them to start complaining about all this, and why Lowes has not supplied a correct door for them. I also have not seen any evidence of damages claimed or estimates for repairs. I will need more information before I can proceed.
