Awesome experience! The care of details and personalized experience was great. I know that I asked a lot of questions prior to leaving. A lot of it had to do with fear and misinformation. Daniel was great at answering questions and being patient. Our tour host Isaac and our driver George did an excellent job of taking good care of us during our visit. I would recommend this experience because some things pictures can’t capture. It’s about a feeling and being in the presence of where things took place, hold a memory that pictures can’t capture.Africa Travellers LLC

I attended the May 2024 Ghana Tour. As an avid international traveler with extensive solo, group, and military travel experience, I must say this tour exceeded my expectations. It was my first trip trusting someone to handle my accommodations, activities, and transportation, and I was extremely pleased with how well everything was organized and execute. They were committed to our comfort from start to finish.
The tour was meticulously planned, and the tour manager demonstrated exceptional knowledge about Ghana. His time management skills were impeccable, ensuring we made the most of each day. Our bus driver navigated the roads impressively, and the tour aide was always attentive to our needs. The photographer captured beautiful moments, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the experience. He made sure to videotape or capture each of us during every activity.
We were treated to a hot breakfast every morning. Each day, we enjoyed at least two activities, providing a rich cultural experience. Our itinerary included significant cultural sites like the Kente Museum, where we saw how Kente cloth is made. We later stamped Adinkra symbols. I felt a strong connection to the Sankofa symbol (always return to your roots). Visiting two slave dungeons/castles and the Slave River was a moving, life-changing experience. We also explored local markets in both Accra and Kumasi.
Safety was a priority throughout the tour. As someone well-traveled, I felt particularly reassured by the presence of our local guides who spoke the language and had extensive experience conducting tours. They flanked us on both ends, so we never had to worry about feeling unprotected, even though we felt completely safe at all times.
Our accommodations were comfortable, with newer beds and onsite restaurants that offered a variety of fresh and delicious food daily. The hospitality of the Ghanaian people, coupled with the efforts of the tour staff, made every meal and stay enjoyable.Africa Travellers LLC

I absolutely regret trusting this company with my once in a lifetime trip. I did my diligence in finding the perfect company but there seems to be not so honest representation online. On the ground, it was a mess and I can NOT recommend company. I trusted the joint partnership advertised of Ghanaian and African American owned as Africa constantly falls short in creating quality tourism. My worst nightmares unfolded anyway. I was grateful for payment plans. The historical sites were amazing. The market is dangerous if you get triggered from people (men ) touching and grabbing you and lots of pick pocketing. Got a last minute VISA for $250 but for months Daniel told me I had time when all along the clock was running out for me to do it on my own for $60. I didn't appreciate the misinformation in order to corner me into his exorbitant price. We had an amazing tour bus driver but the bus had a foul odor. Could be triggering.
Restaurants were constantly out of their menu. We were taken to a lot of
"Fried chicken" american like places as if thats all they thought African Americans ate. Very insulting. Many places didn't have enough food to sell. No other dining in site but sometimes a convenience store was for snacks. Welcome dinner was abruptly canceled without notice night #1 and no food choices offered so we went to bed without dinner. Locals told us not to leave Charleston Hotel for food or risk robbery. Why would you book guest in such a area?
The paper itineary given out for the 8 day did not match the online schedule from their website. Tour guides discussed skipping slave river and dungeon one day but our group vocalize that would be a major heartbreak if done. Breakfast is not everyday and dinner and lunch is on you everyday. Theres 5 hotels stays in 4 different hotels when only 2 are listed on the website. Overall, some, rooms were never cleaned from previous guest, no room phones, wifi was horrible, restaurants out of food, no running water, beds on floor.Africa Travellers LLC

We are deeply concerned to hear about your dissatisfaction with your recent trip. At Africa Travellers, we strive to provide high-quality, enriching experiences for all our guests, and it is disheartening to learn that you felt otherwise. We would like to address your concerns comprehensively:
1. **Tour Pricing and Visa Issues:**
Our tour packages are clearly priced separately for double occupancy and single occupancy. Hannah’s sister initially paid a deposit but later canceled, leaving Hannah in a double occupancy room. Despite the change, we did not charge Hannah the higher priced single occupancy rate to ensure her comfort.
Regarding the visa, we communicated multiple times about the need to secure a visa in advance, starting 90 days before departure, and continued to provide reminders. Our service fee of $250 for expedited processing was clearly stated, as well as the lower embassy fee. Many guests opted for this service, while others successfully obtained their visas independently for $60. We provided ample notifications and support throughout the process, a total of ten communication attempts over text, phone call, and email.
2. **Safety and Market Experience:**
We prioritize the safety of our guests. The markets in Ghana are bustling and can be overwhelming, but they are not inherently dangerous. We provide guidance on situational awareness and ensure our groups are accompanied by staff to enhance safety and comfort. No incidents of touching or pickpocketing were reported during your visit or any visit.
3. **Accommodation and Meal Arrangements:**
We collaborate with reputable hotels and restaurants to provide a comfortable experience. The welcome dinner was adjusted to the second day to allow all tour participants to arrive and attend, but the hotel dining hall and bar were available. Each and every single tour day included a full hot breakfast, and other meals were arranged to showcase local cuisine. We regret any inconvenience caused by a one-time stop at a restaurant with menu limitations during lunch hour where only fried chicken was available. During our meal, fish became available and some participants did opt for that instead.
4. **Tour Bus and Logistics:**
Our tour buses are maintained to high standards of cleanliness. We have not received any previous complaints about odors. We will investigate this further to ensure our vehicles meet our guests' expectations.
5. **Dining Options and Availability:**
We aim to provide a variety of dining experiences, including local and international cuisines. The hotel bars/restaurants were open from 7 am to 10 pm, and food was always available. Food was never scarce, to the contrary, some guests reported receiving too much food as a local standard. We apologize if any meals did not meet your expectations. Of the 19 meal options for lunch and dinner, we ate at Papaye twice and had fried chicken once (see #3).
6. **Safety at the Charleston Hotel:**
The Charleston Hotel is a reputable establishment, and we ensure all accommodations are safe. We chose this hotel for its quality and security. We take guest safety seriously and would not place guests in an unsafe environment.
7. **Itinerary and Site Visits:**
Our itineraries are designed to offer a comprehensive experience of Ghana's rich culture and history. Any adjustments were communicated and mutually agreed upon by the GROUP to enhance the overall experience. We had a brief conversation with our group if they would like to leave the Cape Coast earlier on our beach rest day, AFTER all Cape Coast sites had been visited. The reason was to ensure that guests with earlier flight times could comfortably make their flights back home. We would not suggest skipping any activity, nor did we skip any major sites, including the Slave River and dungeons, which are integral to our tours and the cultural experience of our guests.
8. **Hotel Quality and Facilities:**
We stayed at the hotels listed on our website, and they met our standards for cleanliness and service. Rooms are thoroughly cleaned before guest arrival, and we ensure all amenities, including Wi-Fi and running water, are functional.
We are sorry that your experience did not reflect the high standard we aim to offer. We hope you consider traveling to Africa again.Your feedback is valuable and will be used to improve our services.are committed to providing exceptional and memorable experiences.Review fromKhensani Q

Not enough space here to explain the disgust with this once in a lifetime trip to Ghana entrusted to Daniel, a Ghanaian native living in the States, not a African American, advertising this LLC as a joint own venture of indigenious Ghanaians. THIS is false advertisement. No one has spoken to or knows the native African American of this company. I have cancelled 9 friends from booking for 2025 because of my experience.
Pros-
-Good tour bus driver, payment plans, did see great historic sights, VISA help
Cons-
-Breakfast is NOT included everyday and never international. No american or british options on menu
-Tour Bus smells absolutely horrible of musk. Does have AC. Great driver.
Resturants all were out of stock over 50% of their menu. Taken to fried chicken joints daily for lunch out of most of their food also with no other dining options around.
-The 8 day tour didnt match online itinerary or the paper they gave in person. They added 2 additional hotels never mentioned anywhere on the 8 day Ghana tour.
-Tour guides tried to take off the slave river and dungeons visits but the group protested.
-Welcome dinner canceled unannounced with no other dinner options around so we had no dinner 1st night at all.
-Hotels like Charleston is in a dangerous area. Told never to leave or risk robbery.
-Remaining -Hotels wifi were dismal or not working. Beds on floor, no lamps, bad cable, NO running water and no working phone in rooms (illegal) in some of the 4 total hotels. Some of the rooms were dirty from last guest and when asked to clean by staff it was denied. Some we asked for towels or blankets and it was denied by staff.
-Massive intrusive begging at all hotels by local vendors. The market can be triggering if youre not use to people touch, grabbing, pulling on you to buy.
-My room was doubled with a stranger unannounced but Daniel was incredible rude and unprofessional about HIS error and tried to inconvenience the customer for his error with $300-600 in more fees.Africa Travellers LLC

From the moment I inquired about tours in Ghana, Africa Travelers demonstrated exceptional responsiveness and communication. The professionalism and high level of service were evident, treating me like a VIP from my arrival at the airport until my departure. Throughout my journey, I felt as though I was among family, thanks to the warm and attentive care of the expert driver and the tour director, both of whom are among the best I've encountered in my travels around the world.
This being my first visit to Ghana, they made such a profound impression that I felt a genuine reluctance to leave. The guides were not only knowledgeable but also incredibly welcoming, ensuring that every aspect of the tour was both enjoyable and enriching. If you're considering a trip to Ghana, I cannot recommend Africa Travelers enough; they truly go above and beyond to make your experience unforgettable.Africa Travellers LLC

- Quick messaging response time via whatsapp
- Support though the airline check in process to make sure visa documents clear
- Friendly staff
- Genuine Visa and reliable service
Cons
- Cost. 385 USD for an expedited visa is very expensive BUT if you give them more time, the price is cheaper.Africa Travellers LLC

5 starsFrom the moment we landed in Cairo, until the time we departed from Egypt, Osama who greeted us at the airport was wonderful in assisting us to obtain our visas, clear customs and arrange our transportation to and from the airport. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable and well versed in educating us about Egyptian history and escorting us through the tours. Being able to see first-hand the Great Pyramids, the Sphynx, Valley of the Kings and Queens, the Temples, cruising the Nile River and seeing artifacts from the Pharaonic period in the museums was priceless. I felt very safe and secure during the entire trip. We were able to travel from Cairo to Aswan, Edfu, Luxor and Alexandria. The transfers from one location to another were seamless and I felt extremely safe and secure during the entire trip. This is my second trip with Africa Travellers and I highly recommend using Africa Travellers if you plan on exploring Africa. It was a well organized and event filled trip that exceeded my expectations. Thank you Daniel and your team at Africa Travellers for organizing such a great tour.Review fromWendy R
