      Purchased vehicle on 10/20/23
On 10/27/23 vehicle started to smoke due to blown head gasket
11/14/23 vehicle is taken to mechanic for head gasket issues and is complete 12/23/23
On 12/25/23 the vehicle turned off in the middle of an intersection and since will not turn on only click.
I was told when purchasing the car that it only had minor damage such as paint chips and the sunroof didn’t work. I’ve had multiple mechanics tell me the engine on the car is terrible and that they saw this prior to selling me the car. I as well spoke with Paige who works there who admitted over text that she and Michael both knew the car was bad prior to the sell of it. I’ve been nice and asked them to replace the car because I need it for work only to be called names by Michael who’s the owner.

      In response to complaint ********
Customer came to our dealership on 01/25/2023 to purchase a vehicle, she had test driven a couple in her price range, then wanted to try out a **** ********* *******. We sent her on a test drive and she came back very happy. We offered to do a small payment plan with the customer to help her out on the remaining balance. Customer then signed a retail installment contract with us. Customer came to our lot about 30 days after the sale to pick up her title and the vehicle had stopped running when she went to leave. We immediately moved her vehicle back onto her lot instead of in the middle of the road so that her and the vehicle were safe from traffic. At that time, we had offered to look at the vehicle free off charge to see what was going on. Once our mechanic looked at the vehicle, he suggested that the high pressure fuel pump would be needing replaced. We at Michael J Auto Sales do not work on customer vehicles after sale, as we have “as-is no warranty” paperwork each and every customer signs. Customer is under contract to pay for this vehicle and was told of the “as-is” portion at time of sale. Customer is habitually late on payments and we expect her to make right the contract. We have uploaded a document of the late payments as well.

In response to complaint ** *********
Customer came in office on 4/17/23 to purchase a 2012 Hyundai Veloster.  After test driving the vehicle, customer negotiated price and paid for said vehicle in cash. Michael J Auto Sales, then printed up the normal paperwork including an “as-is no warranty” page for the vehicle. Customer said she was happy with the vehicle, and even signed a released and allowed us to take a picture of her on the day of purchase with the vehicle, which we posted on our business ******** page that night. Customer reached out via ******** messenger the next day saying there was something wrong and the mechanic she took it to said the “motor was shot”. We asked that mechanic to reach out to us to tell us their diagnostic on it so we could possible send some advice. While speaking with that mechanic, we learned that they did not even run a simple diagnostic scan tool on the vehicle to check for codes, they did not examine the fluids to look for any imperfections, and did not thoroughly diagnose why the engine was “shot”. We reached out to the customer and said that she could have it brought here, and we would diagnose the vehicle free of charge, but thats all we could do, as the customer signed in multiple places “as-is no warranty”. Once we found the full diagnostic, we reached back out to the customer stating what the issue was.
In regards to this customers complaint of wanting a refund or exchange, we will not comply. All of our customers are given ample time to look over the free carfax provided free of charge on our website, ample time to test drive the vehicle, and we also allow them to take a test drive to their mechanic for an inspection if they so choose to do. Once the customer agrees to purchase a vehicle, money is then exchanged along with legal paperwork signed including a bill of sale with the “as is no warranty” on the bottom, and 3 separate pages stating “as is no warranty” and a “waiver of service contract”.
We have included a picture of the hole in the piston through a bore scope, which is absolutely impossible to “doctor” or “hide” as the customer stated in her complaint.
As you can see in the attached documents, the customer was more than happy the day of purchase.

It was a **** ****** ****** * and it was for $2500ttorney General’s Office for misrepresentation and TDR/Title violation of the Consumer Protection Act. The car had one sticker that did not say any as is/no warranty information. Paige (sales person) said they would take care of any problems when she sold it to me and knew how important it was that it drove. My father died and I was homeless. I needed to be able to live in it if necessary. She swore it would be a good car for me. They lied about everything. I was even blamed for it dying the second time because I filled up the gas tank. Mike claimed (without seeing it) that it was “bad gas”. They sold me a vehicle that died on me while driving. It’s unsafe and not road worthy. We have no faith left in their ability to correct this situation. We just want the refund and to never do business with them again.

On 10/31/22, customer came to our lot to purchase a car. Customer signed a test drive agreement to drive this subaru after looking at 3-4 cars. Sales girl had explained that if the customer were to find anything wrong during the test drive, to let us know and we would take care of it as part of the sale before the vehicle left. While test driving, customer noticed the vehicle had shut off after hitting a rather large bump.  Our sales girl plus one of our mechanics went out to inspect the vehicle and had deemed the battery cable as bad, while customer waited and secured funds, the mechanic had replaced the cable. Customer heard the car start and was happy to sign the paperwork. Sales spoke to mother of customer on phone and got authorization for the credit card, and then proceeded to finish up sales paperwork, including an “as is no warranty” form. Customer left shortly after.
Not long after leaving, customer’s mother called our office stating that the vehicle had an issue. When the son (the buyer of the vehicle) got on the phone he was saying there was an issue and described it as the vehicle had ran out of gas. So the owner of the business asked exactly what happened so we knew what led up to the vehicle having a problem.  We immediately sent a mechanic with a gas can to them to see what was going on. Mechanic had looked and said we should bring the car back as it was low on coolant that was unknown to us. Once back at the shop, the mechanic had found some hose clamps on the vehicle had came loose. Even though we had no contract to have to make any of this right due to the “as is no warranty”, we happily tightened down the hose clamps and made sure the vehicle was full of fluid for the customer. While we were not obligated to do anything about this, we do this as a kind gesture with no cost to the customer. Customer had been called multiple times, and has not returned our call to pick up the vehicle. The title was transferred to the customer as is policy. We also verbally told the customer and have signs in our office telling customers that titles are picked up in office, they are not mailed out. Customer has not contacted us regarding the title, or picking up the vehicle.
After a short amount of time, we received a charge back on our account in regards to this vehicle purchase. We submitted documentation to the bank and the bank confirmed it was properly charged. At this point, being almost 2 months after the vehicle was left here, we should be able to charge storage fees as the customer left the vehicle here and has made no contact with us.
One last thing to point out is that our vehicles do have on the windows the “buyers guide” stating all of our vehicles are “as is no warranty”, per mandates.

On July 16th My husband and I went to Michael J Auto Sales seeking to buy a car. The car we bought was leaking oil when we brought it home that day. We tried to bring the car back less than a week later and the worker and owner were very rude to us. We also took it into two different shops and we were told it needs a whole new engine that would cost us between 6k-11k. We were never once told by the workers of Michale Js that the car was leaking oil let alone needs a whole new engine. We have done some research and there are lots of complaints towards this establishment. We talked to Officer ******* at the ****** police department and the officer told us that the owner has been misleading people and selling them unsafe vehicles for years. We are planning to take legal action as this has put us in a financial rut and if we had not found out the car needed a whole new engine we could have seriously been hurt. The owner of Michael J Auto Sales is putting the lives of innocent people on the line for his own selfish greed. We want this placed closed down so nobody wastes their time and money and so nobody gets hurt.

Most good used engines cost between 500-1000 dollars, I am Mike W***** the owner and I have never heard of this complaint this happened 4-months ago, we sell all our cars as is no warranty and we offer everyone a warranty and they turned it down, I dont think this is a valid complaint most oil leaks can also be fixed for 25-100 dollars does not mean it needs a new engine If this is a real complaint I would like the customer to call me at ###-###-#### and I can turn them on to someone that can fix there oil leak real reasonable. Thanks Mike
