I hired James to hydroseed about .60 acres at my property in ******** County, IN. I suggest that you DO NOT. The hydroseed grew fast! But while it grew fast overall and really well and thick in a few areas, about 2/3s of the total area hydroseeded never grew thicker than pictured and now it looks like an AZ desert with sparse tufts of grass. Pictures of watering and $200 water bills (water only, no sewage in that) show that I have been doing my part in keeping the yard watered too. I suspect that he didn’t use enough mulch and/or did not have enough full-sun grass seed in the mix for the full-sun yard I have as the areas that grew well receive less sunlight. This is something James should have understood and it’s rather obvious that most of my yard gets a lot of sunlight. When I first told James about issues with the grass being thing he said he would bring more seed with no mention of cost. After waiting a month on that seed I asked him when he was going to bring it and then he said he wanted $100 per bag. So I told him he really needs to come look at this in person. After several personal messages and two mentions/tags on ** I haven’t received a response. I paid James $2400 in cash for the job, plus a little extra for him and his helper. I shouldn’t have. I should have paid for half and then the second half 6 weeks later after seeing positive results. Don’t make my mistake. If you hire him for hydroseeding don’t pay for all of it until you see and are satisfied with the results. It’s a double shame too because James was in consideration for a $10k pond job I have coming up, but not any longer. I guess not fixing his failed hydroseed job was more important than a $10k pond job - or sparing a derogatory review on ** and ******, which I had forewarned about. All he had to do was come talk to me and be reasonable. I would have worked with him on material cost, but ghosting me was a rude mistake on his part.
