This event took place on 06/18/2025.Lightning & Storm Safety Violations: The ************************, ***, and the State of **** all require that outdoor events be suspended during lightning and not resume until 30 minutes after the last observed strike. Despite lightning continuing beyond 10 PM, the venue reopened gates at 10:15 PM and began the concert around 10:40 PM, while lightning was still visible overhead, as is shown in many videos on social media. Venue staff also repeatedly told attendees that the concert would not continue past 11 PM, in line with Columbus noise ordinances. The staff directed concert goers to check their website for further updates, but their website crashed repeatedly, and staff in person gave conflicting directions/updates. All of these issues caused our party to believe the concert was canceled. Concertgoers were also forced out of safe locations in the venue and sent into the storm on foot, causing physical harm to some, as debris, portapotties, merch tents and trash cans were all displaced in the storm directly in the path of concertgoers who were following staffs directions. We were not told this announcement by staff and were not directed to a safe location. Many fans were seated on metal bleachers or near large metal fencing and metal pit platforms, creating a dangerous situation with active lightning strikes in this area that should have warranted further delay or cancellation. This is where our seats would have been, raising a concern for our *************** let crowds in without scanning tickets or checking bags in order to meet timelines not to cancel. Video footage and photos of all of these claims are publicly available on social media. This shows a further lack of regard for safety by staff and the venue.Due to all of the above points, my party drove home due to several safety concerns as well as a lack of communication from the staff and therefore did not receive the goods and services that we paid for.

Attended a concert at Historic Crew Stadium 06/18, it just so happened under a massive thunder storm watch. We traveled from out of state to attend and arrived at the parking lot as the event was starting. They initially began playing but evacuated the stadium due to safety concerns. We were told among other groups of people that there was a shelter in place everyone was encouraged to go to. We spent 2 hours walking all over the stadium grounds in the torrential downpour because the emergency shelter was not marked. Thunder and lightening were touching very close to the grounds and we had no directions. After wondering in hazardous weather for 2 hours we finally had a safe place to stay where the venue kept us until 10:45pm at night when they announced they were opening the stadium back up and the show was going to proceed. They held the concert well past start time during an active lightening storm despite having a 30 minute lightening policy, in which they arent supposed to let people in the tall metal death trap at least 30 minutes after the last lightening strike. It continued through the concert. They had complete disregard for all attendees safety and violated their own policies. Their only form of communication was telling people to check the website which was down. Venue had no respect for attendees safety and kept the concert going because they didnt want to refund money.

I am rejecting this response because: business claimed “Because the show was able to play once the weather passed, refunds are typically not offered.”  but the storm did not pass, we were in the gigantic metal stadium during a live lightening storm that was ongoing for a large portion of the shortened show. It was grossly negligent to attendees health and wellbeing.

6/18/2025, Hozier concert. I had spent around $260 on two tickets to see Hozier in the Historic Crew Stadium, but with weather concerns, the venue sent us inside and left us with no updates for hours. After two hours of waiting we were allowed to return to our seats just to see lightning above and have weather worse than some of what we waited through. We didnt receive a full set from the performer or the opener due to the delays. Was very concerned with our safety the whole show, standing in pouring rain, in metal chairs, with lightning around us. Very disappointed with the way the venue handled the issues after giving us little to no updates the whole time.

    Complaint: 23494645

I am rejecting this response because:

The Crew Stadium responded, asking for my seat number and ticket information, I provided this to them within one hour of receipt along with my complaint number. After nearly five days, they have yet to respond with any further information. I am extremely unsatisfied with their lack of communication and professionalism regarding this issue.

I attended the Hozier concert on June 18 at the Historic Crew Stadium. After only a few songs from the opener, we were told to evacuate due to weather. For nearly three hours, thousands of us were left with no shelter, food, or reliable water access in extreme heat and humidity. The situation quickly became unsafe, with people passing out, vomiting, and needing medical attentionall while staff failed to provide basic crowd control or assistance. Despite ongoing lightning, the event was not canceled or rescheduled. Communication was nearly nonexistent: after the initial delay, there were no updates for almost two hours, other than a statement that they were, "monitoring the situation". Then, the concert was suddenly announced to resume with just 15 minutes noticefar too little time for the many attendees who had returned to cars or left the area. I was already driving home before the alert came through. Worse, cell reception was poor and their website was down, leaving most people completely in the dark. The concert ultimately lasted about an hour in pouring rain and lightning. Parking was another disaster, with long delays exiting both during and after the event. The social media response ignored the chaos entirely, failing to acknowledge the many issues or offer refunds. No one should have to choose between their safety and the money they spent on a ticket. This event was grossly mismanaged from start to finish, and I will not be returning to the venue.

On June 18th there was a Hozier concert scheduled. It started at 7:30. I arrived close to 8 and right before I entered, I was told to turn around and find shelter. We didnt get another update until 9:15 saying that the show was still delayed due to lightning. At 10:15 they announced that the show was starting at 10:30 even though it was still raining and lightning. I would really like a refund because I did not want to risk my life in a metal stadium while there was active lightning

I bought tickets to see a Hozier concert at the Columbus Crew stadium on June 18th at 7:30. The opener was cut short and we were told to immediately evacuate the stadium due to a severe storm headed directly for us. We were given no prior warning before being told to seek shelter. Staff gave us no clear direction until the storm was directly on top of us and yelled at us to go to our cars or seek shelter in a nearby building. We waited, soaking wet, for 2 hours with no real updates. A few people had to be taken away by ambulance because they passed out from the heat and *************. The venue then finally decided to put the show back on, but by that point so many people had left thinking the concert would be cancelled. They only have us a 15 minute warning to come back to the stadium for the concert, so many people could not return. There was also still lightning as we went back in and the show started, possibly even worse lightning than before, and the stadium was completely metal so this was very very unsafe. In fact, a couple of years back someone at the same stadium was killed by a lightning strike. They endangered us and made us choose between our safety and not losing our tickets/money. It was clear this was a cash grab to avoid refunding people and they had no concern for their paying customers and treated us like garbage. I was able to see the show, but because of this experience I think I and many others, especially those who left because they had no updates for us, deserve a refund of our tickets.

I had tickets to the Hozier in Columbus OH on June 18. The concert was supposed to start at 7:30 and was delayed due to storms. Despite desperate pleas from the fans waiting in their cars, waiting under metal bleachers during a lightning storm, packed into small rooms, the venue said nothing except that it was delayed. Offered no insight to when it would be happening. Hozier said nothing. The concert resumed at 10:45pm with only a 15 minute notice, despite the noise ordinance in the neighborhood being at 11pm. It was incredibly hard to make it back to stadium in time as traffic was awful and it was STILL actively storming. This stadium has had lightning strikes casualties in the past, and there was lightning as the band was on stage and the fans were in the metal stands. This was so unsafe, and thousands of fans were terrified. I just want my money back. I spent hundreds of dollars on these tickets, and was evacuated, forced to vacate the premises, and was given no updates in unsafe weather and could not make it back in. I have contacted the venue and Ticketmaster and have heard nothing. If you look at their social media comments, I am not the only one.
