Customer bought engine for 2300, after installation, we were told it have a bad push rod. We were willing to pay for the labor to fix the push rod and cam by sending the shop a reman head, his mechanic rejected the deal that all the work is done in house. For us, a push rod or a cam replacement is easy, a days job but his mechanic wanted 2000 to get it fix. This is a hemi engine, normally we would ask them to pull the motor and pay for the return of this engine.

Instead, we let them keep the motor (2000) and refund him 2300 which only 2000 is needed to fix it plus I don't think it cost that much to replace a cam and push rod but we did anyway.

To be honest, we are the only parts store that would do this because every other parts yard would recommend the customer shipping the engine back at their expense then refunding their money. The customer gets to keep the motor plus his money refunded which can cover the labor to fix his car and he still not satisfied. He is going on every platform writing negative views. We have done our best. We wish we could have the engine back because it is a easy fix and we could resell the engine.  Our warranty covers the parts only not labor cost

Sent from my iPhone He did send refund to us but I feel he did so to save himself some money . I paid 2400 to have this engine installed and it would run but popped and rattled . I contacted him and he wanted to send parts to sell so we could fix it . It was more than a push rod it had a bad cam and locked or seized lifters that what bent the push rod . So it cost me 3800 to fix his motor . He refunded me before discussing it with me so instead of it costing me 4800 to fix I am into it for 6500 even after he refunded the motor . All I wanted was for him to honor his parts warranty but he just refunded . If he would of sent parts to fix it we would of stayed on allowance we had to repair , but since he did not we are 1500$ over budget , thats what I think he owes me for parts we bought . Thank j. ***** . 57888083-880EC
