In November 2024, I personally went into the Penzone salon in **********************. I requested to see one of their brochures to schedule the correct services. I requested 2 express facials (esthetician), an essential massage (therapist) and a prenatal massage (therapist). The woman at the desk said give me a minute so I can coordinate these appointments. She told me that the total would come to $311.75. She took my credit card number to reserve the appointment. Our appointments were December 14th. I received a notification from my credit card company that the total charge was $416.03. On December 16th, I called the Penzone store about the charge. I spoke with a co-director named ******* I explained that when I was personally in the store making my appointment with their brochure in front of me, I told the associate what services I wanted and pointed to the exact ones on the brochure. I asked why I was being charged so much more than what she told me it would cost based on what I asked for. ****** explained that the assistant put me into slots with more senior therapists who typically work on Saturdays and that's why it was more expensive. I told ****** that I specifically requested basic services. ****** apologized for the mistake on the part of the front desk assistant but said she was sorry there is nothing she could do now that the services had been rendered. I told her that their mistake is not my problem. I did not request the senior therapists and this shouldve been explained to me at the time that I made the appointments. She said there isnt anything she could do for me. I made a dispute via my credit card company. Penzone's reponse to the dispute said that they did tell me my appointments were with senior therapists and I was charged appropriately. This is NOT TRUE. This seems like a bait and click operation to me. ******. I'm telling everyone I know. So sad. That's all you need is clear communication. If I could I wouldn't give them any stars.

Hi *****,Both Essential Facials were booked with our Estheticians at the starting price, the Essential Massage was booked with our Massage Therapists at our starting price, and the Prenatal Massage was booked with a Senior-Level Therapist in order to accommodate the schedule requested. The total provided on the day of booking was the total cost associated with the services received. Your credit card was charged the full amount at the end of the day the services were rendered due to payment not being provided after the services were completed.

I made my appointment with ******, at the Dublin location, for a $140 partial highlight, 6 weeks in advance, as is often necessary with popular staff, who only work part time. However, I came down with Covid and was too out of it, with a fever, on the day of my appointment to remember to call and cancel. I called first thing the next morning, and apologized profusely, and rebooked for a $170 full highlight. However, I was informed that I was billed $140 to my checking account debit card that they captured and saved one time at checkout (instead of the Mastercard I had put on file). Plus, I had to pay $170 for the new service, for a total of $310. I requested a refund of the $140 charged for the missed appointment, or at the very least, a store credit to be used on my next appointment. I requested for the manager to call me, but she never did. I ended up calling another store, speaking with that manager, who was able to contact the Dublin manager, and advised me that they checked with ******, and she said no to both my requests for a refund or a store credit. Be forewarned, if you miss an appointment, you will be charged for it.

Their customer service is my complaint. When I called their appointment booking line, I spoke with a young woman that assured me she was booking me and my daughter for hair and facials to do a spa day. The young woman assured me she had us both down. I called because on their app you can’t book yourself and someone else, so I called to make sure she understood. My daughter is home from spring break this week and we planned this special spa day, and I had no appointments. The staff - They just don’t care. I also asked if The lady doing my hair was good because she’s at a lower level of stylist according to their system- the operator said “she’s ok.” Penzone’s used to be the number one salon on central ohio, wow- have they gone down hill! Not worth the frustration*
