*********************** was called to inspect a bed for bed bugs. He stated he didn't find any at the time of inspection so the issue must have been caught quickly. He then sprayed 2 areas of the house only. He asked to be paid in cash $350 which I thought was odd but did it anyway. After 2 weeks, there was still evidence of bed bugs in the same bed. My son called **** and **** told him to give it a month before calling again. It has been a month and now **** is stating that he will happily come back out and spray again for $75 more. I said no way and he said, read the fine print on the receipt. This man and business is running a scam! .

Simply put, this person is lying through her teeth!

She is is not a party to this situation.  Her son is the person that contracted the treatment.

I arrived at the home and after dissusing the issue with the son, performed an inspection on the areas in question. I then treated the loft, and furniture in those areas with out Patented Cimex Defense Bio Teatmernt. I was clear that due to industry standards and the nature of bed bug infestations "whole house" treatment is the only way a warranty could be offered since bed bugs move about freely in a home.  (However, as standard practice Bug Bakers will perform a touchup in any problem area for a $75.00 trip charge instead of the $295.00 base price for  treatment). She insisted on treating only the bedroom and loft areas. The agreed upon fee was $317.13 including sales tax. After treetment, the customer paid $350.00 in cash stating the balance was a tip!  Her claim that I demanded cash is a lie!  As a matter of record, about ninety eight percent of our treatments are paid my debit, credit card, or check and not cash, due to the cost of treatment, and as a convience to the customer.

When her son called for service I notified him of the trip charge. She then called back and I'm glad my visiting grandkids were not in earshot of the conversation! She was incredabilly rude and demanding! Despite her rudeness, I again offered the terms her son had previously agreed to which was a $75.00 trip charge and no charge for touchup service. She then hung up and ended the conversation. I have not heard back since other than this bogus complaint. Despite having no legal or ethical responsibility, and the rudeness of the customer I offered a comprimise but at this point Bug Bakers has no obligation to endure customer abuse as part of our reputation for excellent customer service!

I tried commenting why I reject this response but the application didn't allow me to. Now this owner of bug bakers is calling me a liar and all of Columbus should know this guy is the liar and a scammer. At no point before he arrived or during the visit did he say spray the whole house. In fact, he found no bugs and told my son, he must have found this really early. I certainly would have treated the whole house had he not been running a scam to begin with.Yes he was speaking with my adult son while I stood buy and heard the conversation. The only thing I want from BBB is to let others know that this man is a con artist. As for a tip, really? Who tips a person in this field, very few, and if I was going to tip, which he didn't deserve, I would have paid with cc and tipped in cash. He is avoiding paying taxes and someone should look into that. As for his grand kids, my voice was raised but I did not curse and only told the truth. He in fact then, lied right in front of those grand kids he speaks of. He is likely lying about having grand kids just to get some sympathy. You should report this man and his company to the state for not collecting taxes.
