I had been involved in a car accident that involved myself and my family getting Injured in November 2020, so we hired the firm to represent us for accident claim.

To make a long story short, after 2 years, my sister was about to receive her settlement of 1,500. The law firm emailed and called my sister like 3 times to make sure she knew her paperwork needed to be signed and they even called my sister to let her know that he check was in the mail.

At the end of September beginning of October 2022 I heard from attorney AC, about the settlement amount of $5000 I was going to be receiving in the mail.

On October 11th I sent Attorney AC a text message about mailing that large amount of check settlement to a safe address 4907 Roanoke St., Cincinnati ohio to ensure I would receive it, and not to my physical address 7126 Hirsch Dr apt 235, Cincinnati ohio, because it is a 400 unit building and for security it is not safe to send that or any personal information to that building. AC assured me he could do that and he would call me when the check is being mail.

Those things did not happen. I never heard anything from AC for about 2 weeks, until today, (11/21/22), when I got a text from attorney AC, saying my check for $5000 was mailed out sometime last week, and he said it was mailed to 7126 Hirsch Dr. With no apartment number, that was not the address he agreed to mail it to and he never called me last week to let me know if was going out.

I told AC that was TERIBBLE BUSINESS..i have track down my $5000 settlement check at the worst time of the day i asked AC what would happen if its not found, he said they will re-issue the check and put it in teribble post office regular main again, he didn't offer to overnight it either.

AC offered to get me a tracking number so I can have something to track the check.
He texted me back with it was his fault but no tracking number.

The lawfirm I hired and paid treated my check with no care when it came to how to securely mail it.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/13/2023

Attorney AC inadvertently sent Ms. ******** settlement check to the address we had on file, rather than an address she texted to him a month previous.  The settlement check was issued and mailed on Thursday, November 17, 2022. On Monday, November 21, 2022, Attorney AC was reminded by Ms. ****** of the address that she provided and realized he mailed the check to a different address. The law firm immediately stopped payment on the check, and a new check was issued and mailed on Wednesday November 23, 2022. That check cleared the bank account on Monday, November 28, 2022, meaning Ms. ****** received and cashed/deposited her check within a week of her complaint.  We worked with Ms. ****** the whole time and apologized for the slight delay.
