    Business Response

    Date: 04/09/2024

    Response to complaint ID ********.

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. Please see the response below.

We hope this provides context and comprehensively addresses your concerns.

The parking lot in question is on privately owned property.

In 2023, you were issued 8 ‘failure to pay’ parking citations. Of those 8, you submitted appeals for 3 of the citations. All 3 appeals submitted were granted with no fee balance remaining. The remaining 5 citations are still sitting as “open” with no appeals submitted.

So far in 2024, you have been issued 6 ‘failure to pay’ parking citations. 1 appeal has been submitted with reasoning that does not include a receipt proving payment was made for parking. Therefore, this appeal will not be granted. 5 of the remaining 2024 citations are still sitting as “open” with one of them being a “TOW NOTICE - FINAL NOTICE” that was issued on 4/3/2024.

Your vehicle was then towed later on 4/3/2024 because you have a total of 10 unpaid parking citations.

I have attached a copy of your current open citations.

I understand that parking availability in other businesses’ lots may reach capacity and the next, most convenient parking lot may be the Citrin Parking Lot. However, since we do not manage the parking lot you described, we have no control over when they reach capacity. It is completely up to you, as the consumer/driver, as to where to park your vehicle(s).

I understand frustration and inconveniences caused with vehicle break-ins. Crime in Columbus is unfortunately nothing we can control.

As you mentioned, we do not have security, cameras, nor a gate. However, we can tell you from experience, that does not solve the problem with crime. If you would like to park somewhere else that has some of these parking features, we recommend you park elsewhere.

Overall, though I understand your frustration you have expressed, failure to pay for parking will continue to result in parking citations and/or vehicle towing at your expense as the parking lot is privately owned and managed.

You mentioned contesting which vehicle was cited (Honda vs. Chrysler) and that a citation was issued when you were not parked in the Citrin parking lot. However, we have not seen any appeals with this information or documentation for us to review internally.

Should you have any other additional questions, please feel free to contact us directly at *******@citrin.co.

We hope you have a great day and that the above response and information provides clarity.
