      We were gifted a subscription to Highlights magazine. One of the magazines came with a card to scratch off for a free gift. My 5 year old was excited because she thought she won so we sent the card in. Then we were notified that we were enrolled in a monthly hidden pictures club that we never joined. I have canceled TWICE but keep receiving threatening emails from this company that we owe money. I feel like we are being scammed by this company. We never signed up for a monthly club.

      membership. Customer service is of the utmost importance to us, and it is our
      goal to provide the best products and service to our customers. 

      Our records show that we received a response to a promotional mailing for Puzzle
      Buzz and it was processed on April 21, 2022. The promotional material for
      parents included with the order form indicated that you could receive an
      introductory shipment of Puzzle Buzz, for which you would be charged 99¢ plus a
      nominal shipping and handling charge. A free book and tote bag were also
      to be included in the introductory shipment. The details stated that you
      were free to cancel and return one of the books with no further obligation. Or,
      if you chose to continue in the club, you would receive two new Puzzle Buzz
      books every three weeks at $13.90, plus shipping and handling. 


      As we
      have no record of receiving a cancellation request, we continued to send
      shipments in good faith in accordance with the details of the promotion. It is
      clear from the information you sent to the BBB that you never intended to order
      Puzzle Buzz. Your account has been successfully canceled and cleared effective
      today, August 26, 2022. Your review included a refund request as your Desired Settlement;
      however, you haven’t submitted any payments on this account. Please disregard
      any invoices or mailings that you may have received and keep the items with our
      compliments.

      I got a subscription to highlights as a gift. Than they sent me an invoice in the mail of a charge that I owed them. I did not purchase anything. I did not send them anything at all not a post card nothing. They are asking for money. It sounds like they do this to a lot of people from the number of similar complaints I see on here.

      with a phone number & email address. The promotional material for parents
      included with the order form indicated that you could receive an introductory
      shipment of Hidden Pictures Let’s Play, for which you would be charged $6.95
      plus a nominal shipping and handling charge. A free book and tote bag were
      also to be included in the introductory shipment. The details stated that
      you were free to cancel and return one of the books with no further obligation.
      Or, if you chose to continue in the club, you would receive two new Hidden
      Picture Let’s Play books every three weeks at $13.90, plus shipping and
      handling. 


      It is
      clear from the information you sent to the BBB that you never intended to order

      My son received a 1 year subscription to Highlights Magazine from his grandmother for Christmas. About 6 months in we started receiving invoices for Hidden Pictures, threatening late fees and collections. I did not sign up for anything. Please remove us from your mailing list and stop sending invoices. I have tried calling, emailing and going through the website but I have not been able to opt out or resolve this issue. Very disappointed.

      I signed my daughter up for a Highlights magazine subscription on Amazon when they were running a sale. When we started receiving the magazines, they also included a scratch off post card for free gifts. A couple months into our magazine subscription we began receiving late fees for Top Secret Adventures. I never signed anything or consented to receive any additional products. My child filled out the postcard and believed that she truly won something free, and sent it in. It’s very unfair to market these things to children who don’t understand that nothing is ever truly free. It really does feel predatory and inappropriate. I tried contacting the company to explain the situation, but all they wanted was a payment. I have tried to make payments online numerous times and also cancel my subscription. As of today 8/16/2022, my account shows past due and my magazine subscription is not canceled. It’s very disturbing to me to see that this is what the company now does to make money. I will not be purchasing any future magazine subscriptions from them because I fear this will keep happening. I hope other parents beware of this scam.

      Adventures Club offer presented the opportunity to receive a free kit
      plus postage, as part of an enrollment in our monthly book club. If you
      decided to continue your enrollment, it also explained that a new kit billed at
      $15.95, plus postage, would be mailed every three weeks.

      It is clear from the
      information you sent to the BBB that you never intended to order Top Secret
      Adventures. Your account was successfully canceled and all charges have

      We received a gift subscription to Highlights Magazine and my kids scratched off the “free gift” offer that was attached and mailed it without my knowledge or consent. We began receiving Puzzle Club magazines shortly thereafter. Because I have two kids, they EACH receive a set of these magazines, which come two to a package. I tried calling to cancel and explain that had happened but got a recording saying they had a high call volume and I should call back later. The website sent me into a loop and would not allow me to cancel. Since then, we have received a barrage of “past due” invoices with threatening language. It feels like harassment to have a constant stream of demands for payment show up even though we’ve tried in good faith to cancel. It borders on predatory. Shame on you, Highlights, for your deceptive business practices that prey on children and force parents into unwittingly paying for something they never agreed to buy.

      Highlights sent promotional mail including a game card for free gift. Our kid asked us to help her complete the game and dropped the card in mail. Nothing on that card said anything about subscription or charges, but that’s what Highlight did, they subscribed us to their paid service without consent, and keeps harassing us for payment. We had no intention or indication of subscribing.

      My wife signed our son up for a Highlights magazine subscription on Amazon when they were running a sale.       My daughter was gifted a subscription to Highlights and attached to two of the magazines were postcards with scratch offs for free stickers and tote bags. We have now somehow been enrolled in a subscription with magazines being sent and new bills. We do not wish to receive these extra items or be billed for them! My daughter was excited to send the postcards which seemed to imply winning a free item but ultimately has resulted in bills for over 75.00

      you could receive an introductory shipment of Hidden Pictures Let's Play & Puzzle Buzz, for
      which you would be charged $6.95 plus a nominal shipping and handling
      charge.  A free book and tote bag were also to be included in the
      introductory shipment. The details stated that you were free to cancel and
      return one of the books with no further obligation. Or, if you chose to
      continue in the club, you would receive two new Hidden Pictures Let's Play
      books every three weeks at $13.90, plus shipping and handling. 

      It is clear from the information you sent to the BBB that you
      never intended to order Hidden Pictures Let's Play or Puzzle Buzz. Your account was
      successfully canceled and all charges have been removed. The final
      shipment mailed July 27,2022, which should arrive within 2-3 weeks. Please disregard any notices or mailings that you
      may have received and keep the items with our compliments.
