I recently used this body shop to repair damages to the windshield and body of my car. They were recommended to me by a trusted friend, so I felt I was in good hands. The initial estimate provided came to just shy of $1600. This price was referenced and discussed on a handful of occasions prior to getting the repairs done with the owner. The insurance company also required an estimate and asked me to take pictures of the damage and submit it through their app. When I did, they issued a check to me for a little less than $2200. At no time prior to the repairs did I mention the amount of the check issued by the insurance company to the body shop; however, the day before picking up the car, the price had changed and totaled the exact amount that the insurance company had issued. I was never contacted and notified that the cost of repairs would be more than what was included in the original estimate. In addition, the body shop did not uncover any additional damage to the car while repairing what was initially included in the estimate. The owner of the body shop told my insurance company that he did give me an updated estimate (which he did not). He also told the insurance company that he did not have the original estimate; therefore, he pocketed roughly 600 extra dollars for no additional work. Conveniently, he had no problem providing the updated estimate. Upon arrival at the body shop, I asked him to walk around the car so we could look at the repairs together. I noticed two indentations on the hood, which I questioned. He indicated it was dirt trapped underneath the paint. Let me remind you, he repainted the entire hood. Which means, the dirt shouldve been removed prior to painting. I am completely dissatisfied with my experience and expect this situation to be rectified.
