    Had a Hyundai Elanta with 67,500 miles on it and took it in to Elyria Hyundai for service. They quoted me $4200 for severe engine issues after a “pin sheared off and bounced around the engine.” I told them I would look elsewhere for a fix and was told to pay a $200 diagnostic fee. When I went to pay the fee, they claimed that I authorized a “takedown” of the engine (I did nothing of the sort) and that the diagnostic fee is now $700. I was called a liar to my face by their service representative Octavius. The manager agreed to split the difference at $400.
    I had a tow driver coming to pick the car up from their lot. I accepted an offer for the car that was contingent on an inspection. The tow arrived and when we opened the hood, the engine was in pieces! They didn’t even put the car back together after they diagnosed it, which of course voided the offer I had to sell it.
    I’m extremely displeased that not only did they try to raise the diagnostic fee, but their inability to put the car back together made my car have less value. The worst car dealership experience I’ve ever had, bar nonr.
