I placed an order with P&Js bounce house on July 21 using a valid promotion code (******). The website allowed me to enter the promo code as well as place the order with the promotion applied. After the order was placed the business owner, Cecil H*****, called me an informed me that I was not allowed to use the code. He offered the product at full price or to cancel the order for me. As I was only interested in the product at the promotion price I chose to have him cancel the order. Really, Cecil should have honored the promotion code as the website allowed the order to placed. Instead of arguing this, I was happy to simply part ways and have the order refunded and find another company to do business with.

Later that day when I received the refund I noticed that Cecil had not refunded $52.98 of the order amount so I called and asked him about this. He angrily stated that I was not permitted to place the order using the promo code in the first place and since it was cancelled he was not refunding the deposit. I explained that as the website allowed the code to be used I was not aware I wasn’t allowed to use it. His response was “I am not having this conversation” and hung up on me. I reviewed the terms and conditions on P&J's Bounce House | Party Rentals Cincinnati, Fairfield, More (*****************) and I do not see anywhere that states that deposits are non-refundable, not to mention that Cecil was the one who chose to cancel the order. I feel that 1. The promotion code should have been honored in the first place as the website allowed it to be used and 2. Since Cecil was the one that would not honor the order at the agreed price the order should have been refunded in full. Attaching the terms and conditions on the website for review.

Please let me know if you need any additional information to handle this dispute.

    Thanks!

The customer contacted me via phone and asked if
I had any units available for same day request. I advised her that she needed to visit my website for the most up to date availability. She said she would take a look and place her order. A few minutes later I received a same day order for a unit and at that point I realized she used an old discount code that was not for general usage. I immediately called her to let her know that the discount code was not valid for her purchase and whoever gave it to her shouldn’t have. Discount codes are generated and given out on an order by order basis. I told her that she could pay the remaining balance and I’d deliver the unit. She stated she didn’t want to pay full price and asked I refund her money. I refunded the money she paid minus the deposit. Deposits are only refunded instances of inclement weather or if I’m unable to fulfill the customer’s request due to unit unavailability. She chose not to use pay the difference so that doesn’t meet the criteria for a refund of the deposit.
