I called them because I had an emergency lock issue at my home. The door knob was frozen and could not be opened. Their website says they are the "cheapest" service in the area and their price list seemed reasonable. I set an appointment with the locksmith, who told me he would have to give me an estimate once he came out and saw the job. He arrived, took the doorknob off, and said the lock would have to be cut so it would be "about $450" (more expensive than I thought, but acceptable). I agreed and he cut the lock. That work was fine but when it came time to replace the doorknob, I have two complaints: (1) he installed a $20 doorknob and charged me $250 for it - so despite the estimate of $450, the final bill was $790. The company insists that is the actual price - this is false - any simple search from any manufacturer shows there are NO $250 basis door knobs - even one with push buttons and fingerprint analysis retail for $150 or less. This one was basic. (2) I specifically stated I wanted the new lock keyed to my other current locks. He said he could not do that because "I only carry ******** door knobs and it has to be the same brand as your current lock." He told me I did not have ******** locks but it turns out that I DO HAVE that brand, and what he TOLD me he was installing as ******** was really *******, who I have never heard of. If he carried ******** he could have installed that brand - and allowed me to at least key my other locks to the $250 lock I don't want - but instead, he lied about the brand he was installing. Now, I have to have 2 keys to my house, or alternatively, replace the $250 lock with another. They refuse to refund the price over the estimate and replace the door knob with a ******** lock to work with my other locks. Locksmith also insisted on taking a picture of my drivers' license when he took my credit card - not sure why this was needed and it concerns me that he is carrying around my personal information on his cell phone.
