This business committed to completing the replacement of our roof and all siding in our home and garage. We signed a contract in June 2024 for him to work with insurance and complete the work if approved. The garage and house roof were completed in October 2024. At that time we paid him $13,863.60 for the roof. He told us within a couple weeks he would have a supplement approved with our insurance and the siding would be completed within a couple weeks. We paid him another $7713.30 at this time toward the siding costs. Throughout the months of November 2024 to now March 2025 no work has been completed. He kept telling us that he was working with insurance when in fact nothing was being done. The ball was dropped. I explained to him on 2/25/25 that I wished to cancel our contract and wanted a refund of the money we paid towards our siding. He has been telling me for almost a month he would get me the paperwork to sign and refund the money we are owed. However, he is not answering calls, will only text and still has not sent the cancellation papers or my money back. I just keep getting promises through text saying I promise to call you back. Please help!

I have been extensively involved with this claim.  I have well over a dozen emails and a dozen calls to this insurance company.  Earlier this year the customer tried to cancel the contract.  The issue is not with me, but more with the insurance company.  No communication is an issue.  I have been to the property multiple times in order to get additional documentation to get all of the siding completely replaced.  I have already installed the roof last year, but was forced to stop production due to the claim not being approved correctly. I am not willing to spend more money than the insurance has approved.  This is protection for the customer and myself!  ********************** has only bothered to call me once!  the only email I have received was because I called and asked for the summary and customer service sent it to me.

I made this offer to the customer: My offer is specifically this:
Please allow me until  May 1, 2025 to get the entire claim approved and supplemented correctly so that I can complete this contract as originally intended.  This is just a little over a month.  If I can't get the approval or haven't made major progress with the claim, I will refund the difference between what you have paid and what was approved totaling $5871.41.
I believe this is fair and equitable for everyone involved.  Once everything is approved, I would immediately start on the project with no payment until the project is final. Once I have an  agreed approval total, I will then start the job within 14 calendar days.

    Attached is the entire email.

I have a supplement approved.  The customer did send me the new summary.  I have also been in contact with the insurance company.

The business took my money and did not replace my roof. Then several months later he failed to pull permits and removed my roof and did not put another one on. Please Help!

There were issues with this project. Not only did I take care of this issue, the money has been sent to her.  I ended up cancelling the check because she never even signed the Notice of Commencement required to pull the permit and she says she also never received the check in the mail.  The roof was removed, renailed to code and underlayment, drip edge and needed accessories needed for the first inspection were installed. This roof was originally only approved by the insurance company for a repair.  We then sent the needed documents to the insurance company in order to get the roof fully approved.   The claim was called in 8-9-22 prior to our involvement.  The repair was approved on 8-10-22  The contract was signed on 6-29-23.  It took until 10-27-23 to even get the roof fully approved due to difficulties with the insurance company.  Somehow it was her Mom that signed the original contract, and ****** finally signed it on 1-15-24. Around Feb. 15, 2024, the mortgage company finally sent the info needed to process the payment. At this point she has still not signed the *** and refuses to do so.  Another contractor got involved and immediately caused more issues.  Her deposit was $5147.11 and $2500.  To date, we have performed $5713.08.  We have been and were willing to proceed with the balance of the project.  She does have a 40% cancellation clause in her contract.  Based on the cancellation fee and the work performed, we do not owe her any money.  We also renailed the roof per code, removed the drip edge, removed ridge cap and installed the valley liner totalling $1782.77.  With all of these considerations, we do not owe her any money at this time.
