3/7/25 - Martin N Sons came out and installed our wood privacy fence and it looked wonderful. Upon further inspection, we noticed one of the fence boards was not secured to the 3 cross beams of the panel. Also we wanted to have our back gate latch switched around so we could lock our gate from the inside, as the latch locking mechanism is on the outside of our fence, that faces an alley. We have texted Mr. ********************** and spoke on the phone on several occasions, and we were told that someone would come out and secure the fence board and switch the latch around. So far, several promised Saturdays nobody has showed up. On one occasion, my husband called Mr. ********************** and spoke to him regarding these concerns. His response was "it only takes 15 minutes", and another response was "well it's been this long, I'll have to add you to the list". We paid $5600 for this fence, and even drove to his residence with a cashier's check to make sure he got paid. It's 45 minutes to our residence, but if you have a one year warranty on your work, why isn't that warranty honored? We took time out of our Saturday to drive 45 minutes to his residence to make sure he got paid, and nobody can drive 45 minutes to resolve our concerns? If we told him the same c*** about him getting his money for the job, I don't think he would've appreciated it. Mr. ********************** even mentioned that he didn't remember doing any work at our residence, then when my husband brought up the cashier's check, he said "oh yeah now I remember.". REALLY?!! But we are trustworthy people, and we thought he was, until after several attempts to get our concerns resolved, has fallen on deaf ears and has apparently been blown off. But they got their money, so the heck with our issues.Initial Complaint

In March 2023 I had my entire fence replaced by them.. I contacted them September 9th via the same number I set up the install and with no response I contacted them on ******** September 25 with a response but nothing more.. and still not fixed.. might I add I also contacted them to seal paint my brand new fence 2 months after I got it.. the guy sprayed it on a day it was pouring rain I paid $500 when it drys up my fence has mud sprayed into the gate permanently lots of spots missing spray and when I contact them about it they said they subcontract that type of job.. wasn’t told that up front I also have pics of that conversation if need proof.. then told to contact the guy that did it.. but how can I do that giving I went trough them to have it done.. so a total of $4500 and definitely not happy.. I just want the job to be fixed or the money it will cost another company to fix it giving back!Initial Complaint

I used this company to install a fence for me and paid them when the job was done on 3/24/22. Their warranty is for 1 year. Not long afterward 4/6 I expressed some concerns w/o a response. Then when they returned 4/14 to remove incorrect latches and install the correct latches on the 2 gates I verbally expressed some concerns but felt that my concerns were not heard.
I sent an e-mail dated 5/18 w/o any response. On 6/29 I sent a text asking if he had received my e-mail that I had sent and he indicated that he was having e-mail issues. There was a brief dialogue as he did not know who I was. On 7/5 I sent a text and states since he did not get my e-mail I mailed the letter (original one dated 5/18 attached) as I did not change the date. On 7/18 I followed up with a text asking if he had received my letter but did not get any response.
I have a new issue with one of panels being completely off which I noticed this week and I uploaded pictures. This was a potential issue that had been listed in original complaint and there was a gap and I was told to just push it together.
Briefly will list issues which are outlined is in letter: gap in fence near sun porch I was told to just push it together (which is the piece that has now fallen down), Back fence gate uneven, back fence by little house uneven with a slope, caps falling off (these should have been glued down and should not be falling off). I have a neighbor with a similar fence and his caps are secure (part of his fence lines my property). Gate now dragging (new issue).
Part of me feels bad that I had to resort to this but I've not gotten any response from previous communication, If they refuse to repair I hope to get it repaired and ask that they cover the expense as I did speak with another fence company to have the work repaired. I paid for the product separately from the installation and used their recommended fence company so I don't think the product is the issue.

I have not heard from this company and if the plan was to come out for repair this week I would think someone would have reached out to me by now.It has been a week since I received the response from you that they would be coming out. The first week of September (September 6-7), Martin N Sons was selected to remove my existing 4 ft fence and install a new 6 ft fence. The company showed up and completed the work however the gate that was installed as part of the fence does now open and landscaping was removed and not replaced as the end. After walking my property the clean up from this project was awful. I personally picked up wood scraps and empty bottles around my yard as well as a used blade from a saw. I am very thankful this blade did not harm one of my dogs. Reached out to the owner of the company about fixing my gate. Told me on 3 separate occasions they would come and fix it. They were a no call no show all 3 times. My neighbor kindly fixed the gate for me. The main post was not set correctly resulting in us digging it out, resetting it in concrete and adjusting the gate hardware. I regret daily recommending this company to several neighbors during the initial construction of the fence. Requesting a refund of $500 for clean up, repairing gate on own and replacing landscaping.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: the response provided by the contractor is a lie. The contractor never showed up on two separate dates that they said they would be at my home.
