    Description:
The constituent hired Everdry Waterproofing of Columbus on August 7, 2022. They are located at **** ****** *** ********* ** ****** She hired them to stop dampness in her basement. They spent three days water-proofing her basement.
She tells me they mixed the concrete on her patio and it stuck to her freshly painted patio. Additionally,
they tracked tar on her driveway. These are examples of damages. We generally cannot take a
    complaint against this.
So, I asked her about the job itself. She tells me the cement they put down is uneven. I told her this is
more likely to be accepted because it is poor quality work. For this reason, I am submitting the consumer
    complaint.
The constituent paid them $100. She owes them $18,000.

EverDry Waterproofing will contact Ms. ******* and schedule a meeting with her to inspect her home
in order to assess what, if any, additional work needs to be scheduled. Our company’s Production
Manager contacted Stillwater Pressure Washing and provided Ms. *******’s contact information in
relation to power washing the driveway and patio and had not heard back from the customer since that
time. EverDry Waterproofing is unaware of any telephone calls initiated by Ms. *******.

We are still talking about repairs and corrections to their work.  The case is not complete as of today.  I will contact you when Ever Dry contacts me to complete their agreed upon plan of action. It is due to the intervention of the Better Business Bureau that they reached out to me.  This was a direct quote from management.  Therefore I ask that BBB stays involved until the dispute is settled. Thank you, ******* *******

Constituent hired EverDry Waterproof to waterproof her basement. They didn't do job right or finish it
properly. Sump pump they installed does not work, there was standing water in her basement when they
left that I had to clean up and there there were rocks in the drain. I contacted supplier who sent a
production manager out and informed me the job was not correct. Contract included a lifetime
    transferrable warranty.
I want an independent/outside inspector to look at the job. I do not want this supplier to do any more
work at my home and I want my $550 deposit returned and the contract voided so I can have another
    company do the work.
    $18,000.00
    Paid $550 deposit

EverDry Waterproofing of Columbus waterproofed the home of ********* *******, who then asked the company to return to her home to perform additional work and clean-up.  Several appointments were scheduled to perform this service, and each time the homeowner cancelled at the last minute.  A lifetime transferable warranty does exist in relation to this transaction, but work cannot be performed without the cooperation of the customer.

EverDry Waterproofing is not agreeable to returning any funds to Ms. ******* but does request immediate payment from the homeowner in the amount of $18,000, the remaining balance on the contract.

    Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: My basement is not waterproofed because it was not done correctly. It is NOT true I asked the company to come out and then cancel. Bill B****** called me and he came out to state he knew it wasn't done correctly and he did set up a time for the workers to come out to try and remedy the many problems. I did have to cancel that day and told Bill B****** I had to go with my son to some medical procedures he had to have. I also wanted to make sure I knew exactly what the work would entail and how much mess I would have to deal with. I still have an inferior sump pump compared to the one I had that the workers took but it isn't hooked up correctly. There was no inspection done during or after the job and no permit. I don't have drain pipes around the total periphery of the basement to allow for water drainage as was stated. The workers spilled concrete all over my neighbors driveway as well as mine. I have not received the air purifier that I was supposed to get. I am hesitant to have work done by your company when you had the opportunity to do it correctly but did not. When I asked Bill B****** to put in writing what would be done again at my house he told me he "was finished with me and not to contact him". Of course I want to have in writing what would be done  to remedy this job since everything was wrong with the job that was done. It was and is a nightmare.  Bill B****** also said it would be $16,000 and no yearly payment for the warranty fee. I just had to pay $2,500 to have the rest of the concrete removed that I was told would be removed as part of the job and replaced.  I feel I have been taken advantage of and lied to since the beginning. You didn't do what you stated in the contract .

EverDry did work in my basement 9-13-2021 but I still have water coming in under my steps. It is near my furnace.
They have been out 3 times since last September's work & I still have water coming in. I have an Easy Breeze air system quit working 3mon. after they installed, they came out in March 2022 to put a new motor in it. Now it has stopped working again. And the sump pump battery is not working. When they came in Sept 2021 they moved my washer off the pallet ,the PVC pipe that drains water out of the furnace was not hooked up. They had burned up something in my circuit box was burned up. I had to have another company come out & fix the board & it cost me $186. Which I want them to reimburse me for because they moved the washer & this was hooked up under the washer. It was not maintenance as they put it before when I asked Ashley for reimbursement before it was due to their employees negligence. They broke off the vent that goes to the dryer. They just slid the hose on it but it was not hooked up properly. I had to buy a new unit & have another one installed. I had to pay someone to install it properly. I want to be reimbursed for that $25.00. They did not sand down the wall where they put concrete. They were supposed to do that in March.
They put a stabilizer wall up & it is not correct. They were supposed to fix it also in March They have a special employee that does the stabilizer wall. Every time they come for all day I have to put my dog in daycare in Canal Winchester and it costs me $40 per day. I live in Bexley & that is extra gasoline for me. I am asking $25.00 for extra gas. They are going to pay that fee for not doing the work properly & having to come out so many times. So far 3 times it is $120.00 any more days it is added to $40.00 for each day. My property has been sitting in the backyard for a year. I can't bring it back to the basement. They need to refund the $18,000. I paid for this mess. or pay off the balance I owe.

Though I ask to speak to the service manager, but thy never let me talk to him. They half finished the wall. The tech says I called him a name, but I didn't They came out on the 21st. I sent a picture to Ashley showing the concrete braking up near my furnace. So when the tech came out on the 21st, he said concrete around the wall wasn't on his work order. On 9.15.22 I got a bill from them. I called and talked to someone who told me the bill was sent out late. I asked why I was paying for warranty work. I asked for an email confirming that until work is finished I don't have to pay the warranty, but she has not emailed me. I don't want my case closed as they have not completed the work and they are asking me to pay $75 for the warranty.

I am rejecting this response because:  There is water coming from area that was not looked at I didn't remember until looking at pictures I took showing, where the other area, where water was coming in near my washer and dryer. It is costing money by having to re-wash clothes and a rug in front of my dryer. It was a good thing, I have my washer and dryer on pallets, because if not my washer and dryer would start to rust and they are only over 2 years old.  I also told the person Joey, that the warranty for the 5 years, should not start until all this work is completely done.  My basement is been disarray now for 2 years, with dust all over the place.  I also told him I want the Ezbreeze machine replaced.  Each time there people have come out they have not covered it up.  There is a chunk of concrete on there from them filling cracks in my basement.  I still owe the finance company they use over $6,000.00.  This doesn't even include the money I spent taking my dog to a babysitter, driving to and from to pick him up which is almost over 10 miles going and coming from picking him up.

I needed my basement waterproofed & Contacted Ever Dry. The contract was written on May 21, 2020, by associate who came out, evaluated the problem, took pictures, shared the contract & said I would have a lifetime warranty on the work. Took my $2,000 deposit & explained everything. I felt comfortable with proceeding with the work.

When the crew came, some of them were not very polite & this one supervisor was smoking in my basement, which I did not allow. Then, towards the end of the project, he asked me for the final check, which I was not giving to him, for I was told I could pay the company directly. (Mind you, this is a 18,000 check this man was asking for). He was rude, & I had to put him out my basement. He was rushing the crew for I had put him out, & the crew completed the job, (so I thought), and the account was closed. I had a lifetime warranty so I knew all would be well. I had additional cost to have items removed & put back in my basement, so that they could work. Total expense about $21,000.

A few weeks ago, we had really heavy rain in the area & guess what, I had lots of water puddles in my basement. This was two years after the initial work. I contacted Ever Dry and stated I wanted in writing what failed and what they will do to repair the failures. An associate came out, did a quick evaluation & said he would write it up & email me. The email said, remove items from basement & cover surrounding exterior walls. Not satisfactory. I had to call again to reach another supervisor to ask them to come back out & do this evaluation properly to repair the foundation of my home (with the waterproofing of my basement) and stand behind their lifetime warranty.

So not pleased with Ever Dry Waterproofing. This is why I submitting a claim to the BBB and if they don't get this right, I will have their contractor's license revoked. I feel they are taking advantage of me, for I am 90 yrs old. My family is supporting me with this process.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/20/2022

EverDry Waterproofing of Columbus has had numerous communications with Ms. ***** and her daughter, ****** *****.  An agreed-upon course of action for repairs was reached and confirmed in writing by our company.  The work was performed on August 25, 2022 and should resolve any ongoing issues.

At no time has our company attempted to take advantage of Ms. *****, and it is unfortunate that she believes otherwise.  Her account has been paid in full and EverDry Waterproofing will perform any and all needed repairs for her pursuant to the applicable Master Service Warranty.
