  If we could rate this experience MINUS 1000, we would! We would not recommend this company to anyone! In March 2025, we used the services of Affordable Movers, offered through their Wapakoneta, Ohio office. We didn't have a lot of furniture and only a few not-so-big boxes, because we moved most of our stuff ahead of time ourselves. But even for our small two-bedroom house, their 17' van was completely inadequate. It was so small that it took them 4 hours to load it, trying to fit the furniture in it. Even so, it didn't have enough room for our patio furniture - two chairs and a 2-seater bench that was left in the garage at our expense. On their website (Wapakoneta), they promised that their movers were professional, and they would pack everything very well to keep it safe and secure. The movers turned out to be unprofessional and here is the result: Damaged screen of our SONY TV, scratched cabinet and table of our practically new furniture, scratched new installed oak hardwood flooring and overcharged movers by at least 2 hours ($320) because it took extra time for them to fit the belongings next to each other like puzzles.
  We spoke to their representative several times on the phone and sent her pictures of the damage and text describing the damage. She acknowledged the damage and promised to speak to her supervisor, but that never happened, and we never heard back from him or from her. We are elderly and it was a very stressful and very unpleasant experience for us to deal with a company that cheats people and takes no responsibility for what they do, when even on their website they say they are the BEST!

  Affordable Movers moved 13 pieces of arcade equipment from a storage unit in Harrison to my Garage in Greendale. The pieces are mostly large and most are heavy. I provided a special dolly to move some of the equipment. Everything was at ground level so no stairs or obstacles.
  
  I am an 84 yr old retired military guy who has moved himself many times and have used professional movers dozens of times.
  
  This was a frustrating move because these people are not properly trained, they lack proper equipment, and motivation. The only tool they provided was a two wheel dolly but they couldn’t use it because it had a flat tire. They attempted to move one heavy object using narrow tie down straps as a “shoulder moving harness”. Obviously that did not work so they just muscled through.
  
  The guys are good natured but slow moving and often appear confused. Loading went pretty slowly (1:45 minutes). The truck and two guys arrived on schedule at 1:00. The other two movers arrived about 20 minutes later. The drive to my place took about 35 minutes. The offload took about 30 minutes. We completed at 3:45.
  
  So I had the truck and two guys for 2:45 minutes. I had the truck and four guys for 2:25 minutes. I was charged for a truck and four guys for three hours.
  
  It is my opinion The move should have easily completed in 2 1/2 hours. I believe I was overcharged at least $150.00.
  
  Following the posting of this review I was contacted by the company and I listened carefully to their position. They claim they could have used a different charging scale due to the fact that a disassembled pool table was involved. However, that was discussed in advance and we agreed to the rates I quoted above.
  
  Bottom line: these people are untrained, ill equipped, and poorly motivated. After listening to all these “post move”misrepresentations from Affordable Movers I will not recommend them and will not do further business with them.

  DO NOT USE! Terrible customer service
  After sending videos of weight equipment to be moved, Frank assured me that the movers could disassemble and reassemble the equipment in my basement. We scheduled appointment for Thursday at 9am for 2 movers to come disassemble and move the machines to the basement.
  I get a text at 8:30 on Thursday that they have to reschedule so we moved it to Friday.
  Friday movers arrive and are unable to disassemble the machine enough to get it into my basement. It was returned to the garage and reassembled. I understand mistakes and miscalculations happen but the issue is the owner was not willing to refund ANY of the $280 agreement despite not following through.
  I didn’t expect the entire amount as I understand the workers were here and attempted the move, however, I also don’t feel I should’ve been charged the entire amount when the job was not done. I wish there was some way to recoup some of my money.

  They were supposed to show up from 2-3pm today. No show. When I called for an eta I was hung up on. They kept us stringing along all day saying they would could then never did. 0 out of 5.

  Do not recommend! 2 hours late, showed up with truck 1/4 of the size needed. Owner was on speaker phone talking to mover when I heard him say to tell me to reschedule and he had another job for them to go to. I made an appointment, went over the size and contents of my home. Yet this is how my move was handled. Bunch of jokers and I have no time for this nonsense. Told them to get out, rented a uhaul for half the cost and knocked it out with help of my family. Treat people awful and you will not have a business for long!

  Do NOT use this company!!! They were EXTREMELY unprofessional, over an hour late past my appointment time AND they were not strong enough to lift my furniture. Not only that, but they failed to bring enough furniture rugs and had the audacity to use my daughters brand new floor rug as a substitute WITHOUT my permission and never returned it!! When I called and asked for it back, it was dropped off on my porch a day later filthy dirty and unusable. Contacted them for a refund and was hung up on. Very rude and unprofessional and does not care about their customers!! Go elsewhere with your business. These people are ignorant scammers.

  Where should i begin? Very upset with this moving company!
  I had a move scheduled for Monday that I was taking off work for so I could be there to let the movers into the house. The move was scheduled for 12 noon. They called me 90 mins prior to the move and told me that due to unforeseen circumstances, they wouldn't be able to do my move at our appt time due to an issue with their morning move. I told them that this was unacceptable as i took off work and I was already waiting for them at the pickup to come by and pickup this couch.
  I was told that they were going to a plan B approach and they would call me back with an arrival time for my move and they were going to try to get another team to me by 1230pm. Well 90 mins went by and they never called me back so I called them and they told me that they couldn't get hold of another team so I was stuck with my original team and they wouldn't be able to get to my destination till later on in the afternoon. That was the last time I spoke with them.
  I sat at the pickup destination for several more hours trying to get an actual eta for my move. No callback.
  I tried reaching out to them only having my calls directed to voicemail.
  I even emailed them and the first time I emailed them i got a response back from them that due to unforeseen circumstances they were being delayed in getting to my move that I had scheduled. And I was told that the move would be completed later in the day and I was told that they would call me when they were on the way. I never received another call from anybody associated with this business.
  I tried several times later in the day to contact the business only getting voicemail and no call backs.
  Remember, I took off work yesterday to be there for this moving company and they treated me like this.
  I would strongly recommend not to use this company for anything! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! This company doesn't even deserve a 1 star rating!

  I hired this company to move me from ********** to ********** went smooth. A week later, I called them to move a few pieces of furniture and ***** asked when? Today, tomorrow. I said the same day and was promptly send a verification email for august 10 at 2 pm. I waited and waited, no movers. I finally got ahold of ***** around 7, who made some lame excuse why they couldnt show up. It was rescheduled for august 11 at noon. Again, I got a verification text. Again, I waited and waited, no movers. I got a text from ***** saying on my way. More waiting. At 3:07 I was quite frustrated and texted *****. ( you cant leave a message because his mailbox is full.) he texted back that the truck was broke down, overheating. ( and why didnt ***** let me know, after all he was on his way??) no more communication until I finally said enough and FIRED them at 5:07. ***** gave me a story about only using WhatsApp because he dropped his phone in the toilet and instead of trying to fix my situation, it was more important that he gets a new phone ***************** no communication, I wasted an entire day waiting on ***** and his invisible crew. These are NOT the movers you want or need.

My second review again cause they are the worst and the people on here leaving five stars are lying they are the most inconsiderate lying folk I’ve ever came across hung up on me multiple times after calling and being told they were on the way, very unprofessional and Frank is the absolute worst business man I am going to leave a review every chance I get until this place is shut down for lack of everything, I was told to wait don’t leave my house because they were coming and then started blocking my calls and dodging me without just communicating effectively unprofessional isn’t the word at all!!! I moved my whole house told to send videos and pictures of my home for them to never show. I’d wish they never even answered the phone to begin with wasted my time and energy with nonsense!!! Then I called from an out of state number an they acted like they were in that state??? Like I can’t make this up how are these guys still in business, scamming people!!!!! SHUT THIS BUSINESS DOWN IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!

  Did not show up to confirmed moving time and when I called and asked why they werent here yet , he said isnt it obviously its raining. I said we received no call text or email saying you werent coming he said its obviously we wont move in the rain I asked him why he was being so rude he said because you are. I did nothing but try to see why they werent here why they didnt call and after I asked him what time they be here he said when it stops raining. Mind you it was barely raining and I stood outside In this rain with no jacket waiting to them to come .
