We used Dickll Do It to clean out our house in the Spring 2024, after we sold it. We had used Dick twice before. Both times, Dick cleared out the house himself, with his wife or employees, and sorted the stuff for distribution to third parties, like his website claims: We do the work. We load, We haul, We recycle. Our goal is to recycle 100%. We climb the stairs, we walk the distance, we load and leave you with a smile. When we retained him for this third job, we expected him to follow the same procedure and agreed to a price of $2,600 (cash). This time was different. This time, Dick posted a ******** ad that told people to come to our house and take whatever they wanted. The ad said: First come, take all that you need. Twenty cars showed up and people streamed through the house, grabbing whatever they could, even items that were marked do not take. Two of Dicks employees were there, but they failed to monitor what people were taking, and the process was not orderly. It was a free-for-all, like locust clearing out a wheat field. The cars blocked the driveway and the street. Dick did not tell us that he was just going to post a FB ad to have pickers clean out our house. If he had, we would never have paid him $2,600. In fact he hid his new process from us. A few days before the event, his employees took pictures of the interior of our house so Dick could recall what was for sale. Instead, they were used in his FB **** could have stopped the process, but the closing on the house was imminent and we had no other option for a quick clean-out.I will leave 1 star because the house was cleared out. If I were you, ******* my own ad on FB marketplace to get the pickers to come.
