Most businesses stand behind their work and products they install. I wanted to share this bc I don't want this to happen to more people than it already has. I purchased windows from Best Door and Window in ********** Ohio. They actually service several places in Ohio. The windows are supposedly one of their best rated for wind. At 18 mph + west winds, the wind coming through these windows is horrendous. **** ***** *********** Double Hung vinyl windows. **** ********* promised my husband and I these windows will not give us any problems. They have been here multiple times. They have been unable to determine why wind is coming in. They also contacted the manufacturer. Nothing has been resolved. Below is the END of ****'s (Best Door) email to me a few days ago. In the meantime the wind is still a serious problem with west winds. Just wanted to make those in windy areas, aware of this. I posted this in ***** ******* ****** **** and ***** ****** **** also. This company has several people stating the same thing I am. Buyer beware unfortunately. Several in these groups have had similar issues. Attorney General and BBB informed. "Our involvement with this matter has concluded and I won’t be responding to any further communications." Per **** *********. My husband and I are almost 70 years old and this is how we were treated. Please be careful if you decide to do business with them.

We genuinely appreciate customer feedback and we use this to help make us better whenever possible. Further, we take customer service and satisfaction seriously and we do stand behind the products we sell, which is why we took extensive efforts to help in this situation, as described below. We initially recommended casement (crank out) style windows to Mrs. ******* as this style of window has the best performance for a window that can still be opened. She declined because her window air conditioning unit could not be used with a casement window. We offered her the next best option in a double-hung style window, which also has excellent air infiltration and efficiency ratings. She agreed to proceed with the double hung option and we installed 4 new windows.Several months after we installed these new windows, Mrs. ****** called our office in the evening when we were closed. Rather than waiting until the next morning to call back, she immediately posted an unfavorable review on ******. As such, we were not provided with an opportunity to discuss her concerns or take any action prior to her review. Nonetheless, we called her the next morning and scheduled a visit to her home within a week. We took a leaf blower with us to try to reproduce the air infiltration concerns she raised. We held the leaf blower close to the windows on the outside blowing air at a rate of over 100 mph, focusing on the areas she said air was coming in. No air infiltration was observed or felt, despite two attempts. We also carefully inspected the windows inside and out and took pictures. We did not observe any defects or problem areas. We sent the pictures we took to the window manufacturer. The manufacturer did not see any defects, but offered to replace the top sashes of the windows (the areas pointed out by Mrs. ******* with a slightly larger version to create an even tighter fit. We subsequently replaced all four top sashes. Mrs. ****** later contacted us saying this was not helpful. She also commented that there was some exterior caulking that had shrunken and cracked. We sent our team again to address the caulking issues. Following this visit, Mrs. ****** contacted us again saying that she wanted the original (less tight) sashes put back in the windows. Our team went again to change all four sashes back to the original ones.Following these many visits to Mrs. ******* home and numerous communications with the manufacturer over the course of several months, we found no defects other than the cracked caulking (which we addressed). Once her communications to us became increasingly disparaging, disrespectful, and threatening, we unfortunately felt the need to disengage.

Best Door is basically saying they did everything they could do. Well, they DID NOT fix the wind issue bc they don't know how is the end result. 6K for "wind"ows that allow wind in. I'm sorry, but the excuses **** ********* gave to BBB to cover this shoddy job is absolutely disgusting. I give 5 star reviews to good companies not this place. Please see link and notice the amount of noise also. I hope this link works here. Mot sure if it will.**********************************************************
