Below you will find email correspondences verifying confirmation of a verbal agreement (allowed and legal in Ohio law) between myself, and the director of baseball operations during a phone call on July 18, 2023 verifying payment of all player fees via coaching for the organization during 2023-24. During the meeting I was reluctant to accept due to concerns with communication from the organization and mismanagement of money from ownership from prior teams the year prior. However I was assured that all fees would be paid as part of coaching and helping with tryouts (which I was told was to be paid also and never was paid for). All of this was previously been sent to CAPS ownership via various emails throughout September 2023-January 2024. I additionally wrote on two occasions seeking a phone call or meeting to discuss this, to which I was never responded to nor granted a meeting. I then included documentation and verbal contracts agreed to and validated via email to ownership and forwarded stating fees and credits to be used to offset coaching fees. I then see the organization instead of reaching out sent an outstanding balance due to collections. I then sent documentation a 3rd time and never got a remedy. Additionally, I would like to argue that services promised by the organization as part of the player contract, including Rapsodo and Strength training as part of the fee were never offered for us to use as coaches nor to the players, which provides potential grounds for violation of the service contract on behalf of the Whitecaps organization.
