      Let me start off by saying, if I could rate this 0 stars I would. My husband and I have always loved staying at Salt Fork in prior years, however, this most recent trip last month was nothing but unacceptable. I booked our room in early September and at that point, there was no announcement that the Lodge was going to be having renovations during our stay. Two nights before our check in, I got an email stating the indoor pool and "some" lodge room balconies were being renovated. Well, our room was one of the rooms affected by the balcony renovation. I asked if we could have another room with a balcony and was told none were available and no compensation was even offered at that point.
      Also upon check in, the entire lobby and lodge was dark. My husband and I assumed it was because they turned off some of the power while the construction workers were doing the renovations. Well after looking concerned, a random restaurant worker told us they did not have power for 5 days! We were never notified of this and although our room did have power, the entirety of the lodge was out of power all weekend, leaving us with nothing to do and was also very unsafe as well.
      Lastly and most importantly, on our second day of the trip, I woke up covered in 100+ bed bug bites with evidence of the bed bugs on the mattress as well as the yellow excrement/eggs they leave. When I called the manager to complain, I was compensated one night, but was told the pest report was negative. This is absolutely unacceptable, as I have now been under medical care for this for over 2 weeks now. I have been in pain and have had to miss time from work. This is absolutely unacceptable for a business, especially a State Park at that. Sadly, we will never be returning as this is not right and truly upsetting.
