We had a reservation for May 9-12 Thu-Sun. We arrived after 6:30 Thursday evening. I messaged the host regarding the thermostat & the house being 86°. The conditions were dirty, grimy, ill kempt, ant infestation in the kitchen & the home had a horrendous smell. We needed to be at a medical center the next morning at 7 am, my Dad was receiving his first chemo treatment, so we stayed in the home & I messaged the host the next day Fri @ 12:15 about the conditions of the home stating that we would of left had it not been for the early medical appt. He replied 7 hours later (7:03) & asked for photos of what I “was claiming”. I was at a wedding reception, so I waited until the next day, Saturday @ 1:25 to send some photos and called out the "cleaning fee" that was being charged, also the food we had to throw away because of the ants. He immediately replied and told us to “ Leave my property immediately” & “ you are no longer welcome”. The host also stated “ I will refund you remaining days”. Not wanting a trespassing charge, we left the property. We had to remain in Columbus as my Dad needed to remain close to the hospital for possible complications and rest from treatment. I booked a hotel Sat May 11 -Sun May 12, where we stayed for the remainder of our stay. I contacted the host on Sun May 12, regarding a refund of our remaining days and he stated “ I did not receive a message that you had left so I assumed you stayed, unfortunately there will be no refund for this booking”. I replied that we were completely vacated 45 minutes after we were told to get out, and I was due a refund. I did however receive my security deposit of $200.00 for the booking a few days later. I have had no other contact with this business since May 11, 2024.
