Response to Complaint Regarding Mr. ****

Mr. **** hired our company, Midwest Home and Exteriors, to complete a roof replacement that was approved and funded by his insurance company due to storm-related damage. He signed a contract acknowledging that we would work alongside both him and the insurance provider to complete the scope of work.
Some time after the agreement, Mr. **** contacted our sales representative and stated that he had been in an accident and needed the insurance funds returned immediately. This put us in a difficult and potentially legally compromising position, as those funds were released strictly for work specified by the insurance adjuster and outlined in the approved claim scope.
We consulted our legal team, who advised that the best course of action was to refund the money to release ourselves from any liability. I personally called Mr. **** to explain this and communicated that we would initiate a $1,000 refund immediately. The remaining balance would be refunded once we returned the materials ordered for his job and confirmed the return was accepted by our supplier. This process was clearly explained to Mr. **** several times.

At no point did we refuse a refund.

It’s important to note that once materials are ordered, they often cannot be returned easily or immediately. If our supplier rejected the return, we would have incurred a substantial financial loss—this is standard business procedure and was communicated in full transparency.
Unfortunately, Mr. **** responded with multiple threats toward myself and my business, including false accusations against our team, personal insults, and dozens of inappropriate calls and texts at all hours. Despite this, we continued to uphold our word and processed his full refund.

Since then, Mr. **** has sent a written apology via text message, acknowledging that he struggles with mental health and that his behavior was uncalled for.
Given that we acted in good faith, fulfilled our obligations, and have fully refunded Mr. ****, we respectfully request that this complaint be removed from our record.

      Thank you,
      ****** ******
      *****, Midwest Home and Exteriors
