My husband and I found this ad on ******** marketplace of a brand new electric recliner. We went to uptown marketplace and purchased it Tues July 9th. The next night Wednesday the 10th my husband felt something crawling on his neck and it was a bedbug. We tore the chair apart to look for more bugs and discovered the inside of the chair had dog hair food and trash. I sent a message to **** who has the listing on ******** and he read my message and won't respond to me. He falsely sold me a used chair from someone's dirty house.Business Response

We sell new and used Appliances. With Refrigerators we guarantee it cools and freezes properly. We do not guarantee water or ice on used appliances. 95% work, but we have no way of checking them. Also most are damaged by customer installation or Delivery. We’ve been selling appliances for 3 years and customers understand. Sorry for misunderstanding but usually a new tube will work.Customer Answer

I purchased a French door style refrigerator from Uptown Marketplace on 03/18/2023 with a 20 day appliance warranty. I called on 03/28/2023 to let them know the refrigerator was making a lot of noise and leaking water. They sent "***** at ************" to come and check it out. ***** stated he would "Order part to replace it". 04/01/2023 I texted and called ***** for update, he responded with "It was ordered". On 01/11/2023 I called and texted ***** for update, this time ***** did not answer. I then called Uptown at 419-221-2900, it went to voicemail, to which I left a very detailed message. 04/28/2023 I left another VM. At this point anytime I call for update or to see if they are going to uphold their warranty my calls are ignored. When I first reported the issue, it had only been 10 days. I was within the 20 days of the warranty. Since they sent ***** to my home, they are fully aware of the issue, but have chosen to neglect their obligation in honoring their warranty. At this point I want my appliance fixed or I want my money back and they can come pick up the lemon of a refrigerator they sold us.Business Response

On February 11th 2023
I went to Uptown Market place to look at a washer. I found one I liked and asked the lady at the register if they checked them over before selling them she said yes. I also asked about a warrenty she said there was a 20 day warranty on them. I then told her which one I wanted to purchase. She rang me up and told me to pull around to the dock for them to load it in my truck so I did. Then when I got back there a guy opened up the door and handed me a yellow piece of paper to sign saying I was picking it up. We loaded it up and strapped it down and Then he handed me my receipt attached was a pink piece of paper to it. The writing on it is blurry. I didn't know even what it was. I brought the washer home and we got it in the house and all hooked up and it wouldn't pump the water into it. So my husband was looking around and noticed that there was a hose with a cut in it and that the pump was gushing water out of it. So we unhooked it and my husband took it back the next day. When he got there they told him no returns or exchanges. They told him that someone could come to our house and look at it but we would have to pay 25 dollars for the tech to come look at it and for whatever parts needed fixed so my husband loaded it back up and brought it home. I would just like my money back and for them to not screw over any one else out there that goes there. ThanksBusiness Response

We sell used and new appliances. We double check all appliances. We don’t supply hoses etc, anything that is used outside. Most often people just reconnect to their old hoses, etc. We also find that most damage is done in transport. That’s why we recommend our delivery driver. We Offer warranty which states 20, first call the store so we can send repair person. Then if he can’t repair we replace. This person bought another from somewhere and just brought this back. The paper she received states all that. It’s tough in this day to satisfy everyone. We try.Customer Answer

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:Their guy that loaded it is the one that strapped it down in my truck. It never moved an inch in transport. I was never told that they would prefer their delivery person deliver. I paid and told to pull around to the loading dock. There was nothing wrong with our hoses as they worked on the washer that was hooked up and used the same day I bought this one. The drain hose was on the washer when I purchased it from the place of business. When we hooked that up it also had a cut in the drain hose. When we brought it home there was no water in it. But when we took it back to the store it had water inside because the bottom tub never drains completely. And it leaked all over the floor in the store. It doesn't matter if I would have returned it the same day clearly it would have been the same outcome for the same day or the next. If you have a 20 day refund policy then why was I told the next day after purchase that I had to pay additional fees for your repair man to come to my house. If you want to send the repair man out to my house right now then ok send him. I'm not paying you to send someone out. I have already paid you for the product that was clearly defective. I don't feel like I am the only person you have ripped off. Your return policy paper was not printed very well nor was it posted in your facility. I asked you if you check them and you said yes. If it was checked there would have been water in the bottom tub and there was nothing. I will accept a full refund. I never even used it 1 time. We hooked it up and there was water all over my floor. The pump is no good we purchased the drain hose when we noticed it had a cut in it. I don't feel we should pay for the pump or your repair man to come fix it. I want a full refund for a defective washer that never worked from day 1.
Sincerely,

Our paper guarantees read, 1) we send out tech, if that doesn’t work, 2)we exchange for another of equal value, ) if that replacement doesn’t work, it probably is something at the location, drain, electric, etc, but 3) we refund. The hose was good at store, then they just brought it back. We believe when people haul their own they sometimes mishandle , and then just bringing back without attempt to fix.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:I wasn't offered any of the refund policy. I was told I could not return it and I had to pay you another 25 dollars for a technician to come to my house. I did not do anything to it on the drive home. Why would I mishandle something I am wanting to work when I get it home! You are making no sense. Then you are saying that I only purchased it so I could bring it back to go get a new one. Well my time is more valuable than that. It's a 40 min drive one way to your store. And then it doesn't matter either way because I spent money on both washers I purchased. So just take your junk back and give me my money back that I paid you for the washer. You act like I got it for free. I will never step foot in your store again if you do if you do not then I will file a claim with the court and make sure everyone I know knows that you sell junk appliances. I could see if it was weeks after I purchased it to not refund my money but it was the same day that I purchased it that it did not work. Why would I come buy a washer from you just to beat it up on the way home? Then drive back over there to return it and be told no returns. We'll that's a lie then you will not let anyone return it. Then told I had to spend additional money to you for your technician to come look at it. Clearly from the purchase I made your technician can't fix or it would have ran correctly at my home! It's my money. I paid you for it. So I want it back and you can send your technician to my house to get your junk washer from. If not I will be filing with the court for the amount plus fuel to drive there and back plus some for the hassle. I'm not real sure what the problem is that u won't return my money that i paid for the washer with.
Sincerely,
