My wife and hired AKM Elite Painting (******* owner) on Jan 13th 2025 to paint the inside of our home. He gave an estimate and assured us of what a good job it would be and that it would take two weeks. Its now April and I have three ceilings painted, the master bathroom, hall bath and laundry room with the masking tape still left on. Some drywall cracks done by another crew subcontracted by him that did a terrific job. But not by *****. From not being able to get the scaffolding from a customer to a truck breakdown, drywall guy hurting his wrist, loss of all his employees and it just goes on and on. He didn’t purchase the paint specified and bought a different brand even. ***** has one excuse after another as to why he can’t come out and after requesting to terminate our contract, he is refusing to even return any portion of our down payment. We feel we have been more than understanding and patient with all of his family illness and his own illness. ***** just needs to set priorities. And painting our house was not one of them after a generous down payment sadly given by my wife and I.

Company was hired to refinish and paint kitchen cabinets. Job started off well on 8-10-23. The owner, ***** ******, was friendly and the 2 employees that did the job were great. Cabinets looked great when finished. About 6 wks later some of the cabinets started to flake and chip. I sent pictures to the owner and asked him if this was normal and he said definitely not and that he would fix it. It is now April 17, 2024. He has given us the runaround so many times I can’t count. Promised to show up and never does. Unwilling to refund any of the money we paid him, which was $2940. I specifically asked him before we contracted with him if this would happen to the cabinets because after talking to some other people, I was very worried about it. He assured me it absolutely would not because “they had perfected the process to make sure it doesn’t happen.” Several of my cabinet doors look awful now, with chipping and peeling paint. I have every invoice and correspondence between ***** ****** and myself. I am very, very unhappy with the work that is left undone and the promises to fix it. I offered to get an estimate from someone else to fix it and ***** could just reimburse us for that amount, if in fact he did not want to deal with it. He will not do that. This whole thing has been very frustrating. During this same time he also took a $900 deposit in September of 2023 from my in-laws to paint their house, and has never done the job and has not refunded their money despite several requests to do so.
