    I hired A&J Home Repair to remodel two bathrooms. After a few months we noticed the master bath toilet and shower weren’t functioning properly such that the drains were communicating. The toilet runs frequently and the shower gurgles when the toilet is flushed. I have called and texted the owner multiple times over the last four months with no reply.

    On his website, I found the attached photo of our shower showing improper venting. A $10 short cut that is now a complicated fix given tile in the shower. In the photo you can see the drain stem running to the 9:00 side of the drain, not 12:00 as typical, nor do you see a vent attached. An improperly vented system will gurgle when other fixtures are used.

    I would like his team to remedy the issue or reimburse me for a plumber to do it.

    He sold us on his ability to do it right, showing photos of proper and improper drain plumbing for kitchens he has done. I think he knows he took a short cut, realizes it’s not easy to make right, and is dodging my calls expecting me to live with it.
