    I purchased a vehicle from Cash for cars llc in Marion Ohio on 2-28-24. I have the vehicle 22 days and the timing chain went and ruined the whole engine. Now it’s going to cost more to fix the car than I owe on it. And when I talked to **** the owner his response was “i don’t have a way of telling the future of a car” and basically told me he’d give me grace on my payments to fix the car but there was absolutely nothing else he was willing to do. I can’t get to work to pay to fix the car because I no longer have a vehicle.

    To whom it may concern:
    As a response to Ms. ********* complaint. All used cars that do not have a remaining factory warranty are sold as is. 100% of the time my customers are offered, and yes Ms. ******* was offered as well, an opportunity to purchase a Service Contract to help offset issues similar to what happened to ********* car but she declined. Her signed declination of this service contract and her acknowledgement of her car purchase being “As Is” is contained in her file and neither are a surprise to her! Should you need additional information I will provide it. 


    This is truly a case where Ms. *******, test drove the car, had a mechanic double check her purchase the next day. At the time of purchase offered a service contract and declined even though there was no warranty. After weeks of driving the vehicle under her care, custody and control it's somehow my fault that something broke???

    I am rejecting this response because: 

    I was not told about any other service contacts. Or that there was even an option to purchase a 3rd party one till after the vehicle died. And now needs $5,000 worth of work to even get it running..

    I had the vehicle for 22 days. Not a month like **** said..

    Offering to give “Grace on payments” does absolutely nothing when I do not have a vehicle to get to work.  He has also contacted me because I posted on the BBB and basically has said because I contacted the BBB he is no longer willing to work with me. The only way for him to make this situation better is for him to give me my down payment back for selling me a vehicle he knew was going to die.
